I can only assume you are misunderstanding the scope of my sentence.

 

I am not saying that the opinions are aggregated incorrectly (although you can obviously have a discussion about whether the wisdom of crowds should be generated in a plutocratic fashion like betfair, or with everyone getting 1 vote).

 

I am saying those opinions often turn out to be incorrect, and are sometimes clearly misplaced in advance.

 

In this case I didn't have a strong opinion because I care about diving once every 4 years, although Carlos was obviously right to follow the value in a 3 horse race over such a short 'sprint'.
