August 16, 201214 yr Rumoured to be on trial with Leeds. He'll be a great signing for someone. Him and Diouf in Tiger Tiger every Saturday night. Fun times.
August 16, 201214 yr i think he will be quality in the championship if he can keep fit. shame he didn't stay!
August 16, 201214 yr We should have at least offered him a take it or leave it reduced terms contract like Jussi and Knight. Hopefully he will piss off and sign abroad because I wouldn't fancy him playing against us.
August 16, 201214 yr We should have at least offered him a take it or leave it reduced terms contract like Jussi and Knight. Do you know that we didn't?
August 16, 201214 yr Do you know that we didn't? You should know by now that everyone on this forum knows the ins and outs of the running of BWFC.
August 16, 201214 yr Do you know that we didn't? I think we can be pretty certain that neither Coyle and Klasnic were keen to work with each other next season - would surprise me if we did offer him one, wouldn't surprise me if klasnic were to turn down any new deal
August 16, 201214 yr Obviously the move back to Germany never materialised. He'll be a decent and (relatively) cheap signing for someone.
August 16, 201214 yr Obviously the move back to Germany never materialised. He'll be a decent and (relatively) cheap signing for someone. makes you wonder though why he, and more notably NRC, haven't got themselves sorted out by now
August 16, 201214 yr Yeah, it does a bit. I suspect NRC, as a free agent, wants big wages and he's not being offered it by any of the usual suspects (especially teams he's left in the past). Suspect he doesn't want to play outside of England / Premier League either, which might limit his options.
August 16, 201214 yr He'll be a decent and (relatively) cheap signing for someone. I'm not so sure he'll be "cheap", I reckon he'll be wanting a fairly hefty wage, and that might frighten a lot of the Championship clubs off, especially at his age as he'll have no resale value at all
August 16, 201214 yr I've always wondered how many offers bosman type players get. Are they waiting for the right one or they just stubborn on the league/team/money?
August 16, 201214 yr I've always wondered how many offers bosman type players get. Are they waiting for the right one or they just stubborn on the league/team/money? Balancing act - you don't want to jump too soon (might be a better off out there), but at the same time, leave it late and you might get desperate and have to settle with a shit deal. He's also missed pre-season training too, which doesn't help if you want to walk into a Prem first team. Got Southampton with an escape clause written all over it (for NRC that is) Edited August 16, 201214 yr by Blixa
August 16, 201214 yr I've always wondered how many offers bosman type players get. Are they waiting for the right one or they just stubborn on the league/team/money? I would have thought the players say to their agents someting along the lines of "Right, I'm a free agent, you find me a club. I don't want to be playing outside the top two divisions, and I don't want to be working for less than £25K per week" The agent then toddles off looking for a club, he then either finds one straight away or he comes back and tells the player he'll have to redice his terms. I reckon there is probably a lot of brinkmanship going on as well. Clubs know that the closer to the start of the season the more desperate these "free" players will be to get themselves fixed up..........and conversely, the players know that the closer to the start of the season we get, the more desperate the clubs get. I'm sure that when these players sign for clubs in August/September time, that in the main it's for less money than they were asking for in June/July
August 16, 201214 yr some bosmans, want that last pay day, some want to find out their options, it must be a long summer and very frustrating.
August 16, 201214 yr So it's not a case of our released players being actually shitter than we thought? Just checking.
August 16, 201214 yr some bosmans, want that last pay day, some want to find out their options, it must be a long summer and very frustrating. Poor fucking loves. My heart bleeds for them.
August 16, 201214 yr So it's not a case of our released players being actually shitter than we thought? Just checking. or maybe they're not as good as we thought they were at the time! (edit, I think that might the same thing) robinson and steinnson haven't been snapped up yet or klasnic or NRC all did a job to various extents on presumably good money as yet no one else sees them as being worth a new contract all currently free agents Edited August 16, 201214 yr by ZicoKelly
August 16, 201214 yr Am surprised at all of them apart from Robinson. I can only imagine it's a case of them turning offers down because they'll be receiving offers of substantially less £££s than we were paying them. I don't think Reo-Coker's as good as he thinks he is. There must be a reason why he ended up having to settle for playing for us last season.
August 16, 201214 yr I don't think Reo-Coker's as good as he thinks he is. There must be a reason why he ended up having to settle for playing for us last season. He signed for us pretty late in the close season last year, which suggested not a lot of offers around then either. Back then, he was talking up being convinced about the club's future direction. Less than one year later, he off in a different direction. I rate him, would have loved to have seen him play for us this season. I'd be more confident about a quick return to the Prem.
