Big_Sharps
Why are they discussing having a UK team in the NFL? Is it not called The National Football League?
frank_spencer
Why are they discussing having a UK team in the NFL? Is it not called The National Football League? They want to grow the sport of american football outside the states. The fact they get 85k people every year at wembley leads some numb nuts in the states to think a UK team would work. The attendances for the 2 games next year will be an interesting watch. The thing is we've all picked our teams and have built up an affinity to them. For me the international series game is just a fun day out for NFL fans in the UK and europe. There was loads of Germans there yesterday. I understand the logic behind it but I meant it would go completely against the whole compeition name, it becomes not a National Football League if that was to occur. I realise nobody would care and would look beyond it but still would be a little silly.

DazBob
what, like calling it the "World Series" of baseball? A common error when people query that. I believe that it was called the World Series due to it being sponsored by the NY newspaper, "The World". Edit: Ignore that, it's a myth. I've just checked it and now feel like a bit of a knob for quoting that 'fact' for years. Edited October 29, 2012 by DazBobParr
