Went to that place once. They had telephones on the tables in private booths where you could phone the bar for table service. You could also ring one of the other tables. It took chatting up to a new level. It also took piss taking and heavy breathing to new levels as well.

I went there many years ago and got so pissed, it took me about 10 goes to get off that rotating dancefloor.

I think between end of 93 and 96 I didn't miss a Friday night in Hawthorns. Old Three beforehand and then a chicken soup from the vending machine at the cab rank round the corner on the way home.

Me and some mates got attacked by a load of Wythenshawe's finest, armed with bottles, coming out of Fridays about 10-12 years ago. They'd snuck onto a coach that was parked up to wait for us. It booted off all over Palatine Road. Lovely place with sticky carpets

 

A couple of years before I'd gone in with an ex (32C) and her mates. Her best mate (Massive - GG's I reckon) accuses a random girl of nicking her bag. A melee ensues and the accused goes to whack my ex's mate in the face, only for me to step in the way and take a full fist to my eye. Had to go to that Police Station on Elizabeth Slinger Road for my sins.

 

Tuxedo Proncess was another cracker - a Geordie girl I used to work with used to stell stories of Dietmar Hamman chasing slags around there when he was at Newcastle. I went once with a mate who was a notorious letch....he used to wait by the spinning dancefloor for girls to be taken past and make a grab. If he failed, he'd just wait until they came around again
