That night at Liverpool, that night at Arsenal, that night at Everton. All nights which will live on for ever.

I despair these days when the FA Cup doesn't have the same romance as it did for Bolton wanderers in the early 90s and earlier. Maybe, in some way, the likes of John McGinlay, Andy Walker & David Lee took us to such levels that anything after thaose nights become a pale immitation.

Massed behind the goals on all three nights, proud to be supporting probably the most famous recent giant killing act seen in recent years. McGinlay, Walker and Lee proving to the world that supporting a top 10 Premiership club wasn't necessarily the only way to see winning football; winning against top 10 Premiership clubs was the norm, for a few years at least.

We were at a Do in the 'exec club' a while after the game. My cousin was telling Super how he was gonna play for Scotland, Super was telling my cousin how he was talking bollocks!

What he did tell us though, was that he has the shits that night in Liverpool. 'When ah went up to celebrate that goal ah nearly fookin let go!' Legend.

The rest of the team went suppin and fuckin at some casino and super was sat on the hotel shitter puking in the sink.

Also, assuming you're reading this SJ, tell the class about the time you shit in Ged Taggerts shoe........ :)

Dim and distant, now the exquisite thrill of the FA Cup

Lost, like youth

Those nights, they were mostly nights, at Everton, Liverpool, Arsenal, Leeds (Newcastle), were some of the best days of my life

And then, from the dead embers, came Birmingham

And, suddenly, we were young again, with hope

then Wembley

Ah well, there's always next season
