Anyone watching it, is it worth catching it on the planner at all?

Not watching it, but I'll guess at it being bollocks.

I couldn't give two shits if they said Leslie Nielsen, Dennis Nielsen or Bridgette Nielssen were the pilots and they had a free tab in the Airport lounge.

I got a flight to Croatia t'other week for £50 return...

Put the blinkers on to all the shite they peddle and some of the less desirables on the flights, it's £1 for £1 probably one of the best value for money companies going.

Must've flown with 'em seventy, maybe eighty times down the years - been delayed once, never been cancelled.

'tis true

They don't hide charges and are rarely delayed. I like em.

Saying that the servicing etc is a bit ropey ha

I think they're a very good airline, I've never had a problem flying with them, I think I've only been delayed majorly once when the plane was broke....being stick in Shannon Airport for 3 hours is pretty grim I can tell you. It's the shittest airport in Europe I reckon

must be a bad un then, cos iraklion is utter, utter dogshit

As is Sheffield

And the one for sunny beach

As long as its under two hours, Ryanair are fine, as has been said already, they are what they are, they dont hide charges and they have opened up so many new places that you can get to for next to nowt. There are some horror stories from when they have bad delays, but since the eu 261 rule came in, they have been reigned in.

Depends which part of Shannon airport you are in, some of it is quite nice, Heraklion is a nightmare, but the worst ive been to (out around 300 ish) is a toss up between Kaunas, and Accra.

It was basically the pilots having a whine because they're not allowed to join a union.

They have an impeccable safety record so I'd suggest they know what's what.

Heraklion is the shittest airport on earth, bar none.

Just wish they'd stop playing those fucking trumpets when you land.

Just wish they'd stop playing those fucking trumpets when you land.

This, and tone the fucking yellow down in the cabin. Hard to look at when flying with a hangover.

each time i've been departing heraklion its been riddled with flies and litter

this year there were dogs crashed out at check in - you had to look close to be sure they weren't dead, and cats wandering about

no shops or owt much to do and every time you sat down half a dozen flies grazing on you

still be back next year, mind

Remember coming back from heraklion and customs consisted of a bloke in half done up uniform with his hat at a jaunty angle lying back on his chair just waving folk through.

Next on Channel 4 - Iceland Prawn Rings and Spam are full of shit...

When did it stop being an alright channel, to one solely involved in producing scaremongering documentary exposes, 'Aren't these people brave?' Freakshows and airing beyond shite American 'comedies'?

Didn't they once land at the wrong airport? Somewhere in Ireland iirc

I try to avoid them if I can, but that stems from reading micheal o'leary's autobiography.

That wasnt Ryanair.

That was NASA.

It was also a fictitious device for the purpose of an advert.

Just googled it

Ryanair in march 06 landed at a military airport thinking it was actually Derry airport. Passengers had to stay on board whilst steps were delivered from the civilian airport ;-)

Wondered if he played the cockerel?

It was a flight being flown on behalf of Ryanair, but the crew and aircraft were from Eirjet.

it looks like its stopped as it waits to complete the descent

Ah the A380. When you are on board it sometimes feels like you arent in the Air, very very quiet inside.  Im still in awe of that plane!

Surely Ryanair need to check the competency of any sub contractors it takes on board?

I dig holes for a living, if we use a sub contractor he works to our risk assessments and method statements and is managed by our site agents etc. if the subby fcuks up its our company that takes the wrap publicly.

Casino I seen two of them this week, emirates into Manchester and ba into Frankfurt, it just looks wrong. It hangs in the air longer than wyn Davies! Fair fcuks to the engineers that designed it though.

You arent wrong starvin.

I had to look into that incident, as the airline i work for flies into Ireland, and prepare a precautionary warning for our pilots, there were quite a few errors in that incident, and failures on quite a few parts, without going into a lot of technical details, the Instument landing system was being calibrated at Derry Airport, at the exact moment the flight was landing! The pilot, and the air traffic controllers, plus the crew who were in the calibration aircraft were all deemed at fault. The runway at derry and the one at Ballykelly where he actually landed at are aligned almost exactly, the pilot, and atc didnt realise he was in the wrong place until he hit the ground, and managed to stop just in front of a railway line.
