Aldi

Featured Replies

Other than those Scottish fuckers saying the name 4 different ways on the advert you cant fault the place.

Aldi nappies are ace and cheap as fuck. £4.50 for 56 instead of £10 for pampers.

No Balls suggested Malbec for £6.

...Not really tried owt else but its entertaining seeing an aisle with spirit level and a fleece next to some feta cheese

Prosecco. And lots of it.

Oh and gin.

I've had a bad week.

Aldi is ace and yes it is quite amusing to see an iceberg lettuce next to power tools, it always makes me chuckle

You cannot fault their prices nor quality of produce, their fruit and veg is IMO the best around.

Have you tried the Saint Etienne beer? tastes just like wife beater

You can tell they're German by that new advert - it's a poor show mocking the heroic and stoic efforts of our daft buggers who tried to reach the South Pole...

They failed where the Norwegians succeeded because they refused to (have planned beforehand) countenance using dogs as a mode of transport and mobile larder. They'd hardly have eaten Oates would they?

No not tried that danny. I went in today and felt a bit uncomfortable buying nappies and wine, I need a Stanley knife for some work im doing tomorrow but thought better of it!

Even worse as I was behind two smack heads each buying brandy and white rum and literally (in its true sense) coppering up for a 3p carrier bag each.

Also if you like your Bourbon,  go for the Clarke's Kentucky Whiskey at a tenner a litre, they do an own brand Southern Comfort too at a similar price.

Had a couple of cooking sauces that were a bit kak but on the whole can't fault them. Even the branded stuff they sell is much cheaper than the other supermarkets. Got a warbies loaf for a quid, £1.45 in tesco.

How much does it cost in petrol to say drive an extra 5 miles to go to aldi for a few cheaper things on the assumption you do your big shop at asda or tesco.

Also assume that it will take up an extra 1 hour of your spare time

Could it not be possible that some folk live closer to aldi than other supermarkets? Or that like me, I go when doing other stuff as well

It's fooking brilliant.

I saw some ski googles next to the mustard stand the other day.

What if there's one nearby?  Why would it take an hour?

Warbys at £1

4 pints of milk £1

They've got a fabulous range of wines too.

Strangely there used to be a social stigma about shopping at Aldi but once you shop there and realise how cheap it can be it's no wonder it's the fastest growing supermarket in the UK

Aldi is nearer to me than Sainsbury where I usually do my big shop, so it's not really out of my way, especially as I actually have to drive past it to get to Sainsbury. I also like to use their carpark when I go to the local butchers in the town as well

Clearly the poster doesn't live anywhere near one and so thinks no one else does.

I need to bob there tomorrow to get a couple of bottles of Malbec. I suppose we could do a shop for him and send it on if he needs owt.

Went into Lidl the other week whilst in Orkney, it was like a carbon copy of Aldi. Picked up a fairly pleasant bottle of Rioja for less than a fiver, ace!

It's fooking brilliant.

Ladders next to tins of corned beef last time I was in

Father in law bought cheap golf shoes, bollinger and some other random items dirt cheap the other week

Speaking of low cost stores, Tyldesley, fuck me, that's the place to go for bargain shopping.  There's a Lidl, an Aldi, a Poundstretcher & a B&M bargains.

Amazing :D

Yes, you're right.  I am too nice for my own good at times :D

Oh & BD, there's signs for it, but beware if you get in the one way system.
