If you think it's been bad at the back this season, our attacking stats have got to be up there with the worst in the country/world/ever.

 

In 6 league games we've scored 3 goals, with none of those 3 coming from our forwards. We've only once played the same pairing consecutively & half the time Dougie goes with 1 upfront & half the time with 2.

To me it's obvious that we can't hold the ball up, we've virtually no presence in the air, we're lightweight upfront & Beckford & Ngog are too similar.

 

I think we're suffering from an SKD hangover. We're used to having someone upfront who can win headers, hold play up to bring our midfield in & causes defences problems. We're playing high balls in & they're just coming straight back. We're putting crosses in but there's nobody to win them.

 

IMO We need 4-4-2 with Craig Davies being 1 of the 2. On his own he's not good enough & without him we're not strong enough.

From somewhere we need creativity in behind the top 2 and that for that means sacrificing either medo or spearing and playing Eagles central I'd put Hall and LCY out wide with Beckford and Davies (is he fit) Dougie can call it 4-3-1-2 but really it's 44 fucking 2.

IMO DF is too tactical in his approach and the players do not know their role no matter what system they play.

In 4-4-2 they can just play the same game they've grown up playing. "Where do you play", "right wing/left-back/centre-mid etc.". No one answers, "in a 4-5-1 I play the holding role" or "front of a diamond" or "pivot in a 5 man midfield".
