(Ten Pints Of) Guinness Book Of Bolton Records...

With Christmas-related insomnia the other day I saw some godawful programme with some fucking strange 'records' being attempted, like headbutting watermelons...

Anyway, in that spirit, what are the biggest, longest, shittest etc. records within the borough?

Tallest Building? Parish Church? Blackshaw/Fernstead/Rogerstead House?

Steepest main road or thoroughfare? I'd volunteer Garstang Avenue in Breightmet, nearly had a coronary running up that t'other week...

Lowest point? Where the river passes under Lever Bridge surely?

Anyone else got any less boring 'uns?

From our house (up near the Last Drop), you can see Fiddlers Ferry & Jodrell Bank most days. On a good day you can also see the hills at Frodsham & North Wales.

You can see blackpool tower from chorley old rd

There's no way anywhere between Morris Green and Plodder Lane is the highest point in Bolton.

Top shelf of our fridge is altitude for that fucking deviant

On a clear day you can see the welsh mountains from chorley old road.

From the shithouse window in Curleys you can see Toronto

I'd have money that Scout Road is the highest part of Bolton, the chippy.

Smithills Moor, just south of Winter hill is the highest part of Bolton, so Coal Pit Road, would be the highest road, I think.

On a clear night you can see stars and they're a damned site more distant.

Saw the Isle of Man from the top of the Pike once

The main record for Bolton is that it is the biggest town in Britain, possibly the World actually........
