January 10, 201412 yr I've recently had a knee op and the surgeon recommended cycling to strengthen it so im on the look out for a decent road bike that I can use several times a week. Anyone on here into their cycling and if so can you point me is the direction of a decent cycle. Cheers.

January 10, 201412 yr Would suggest a hybrid, no more than £400. You can get a bike for less than £200 but it will probably knacker quicker than your dodgy knees.

January 10, 201412 yr Yes, Boardman make good value bikes, made up with my cyclocross. Halfords no longer flog them, however. Second that recommendation for Decathlon. My Mrs got her road bike there and the spec is bloody good for the ££.

January 11, 201412 yr I did the London to Paris in September with work to raise money for charity. Never done it before and only did a few practice runs, it killed me, ha ha Bought a good second hand bike off my best mate for £600, never been on it since and don't plan too either, ever!!! It's yours for £500 It's a Trek with Ultegra gears, means fuck all to me but apparently that's very good?! Was serviced just before I bought it and I only did circa 300 miles on it

January 11, 201412 yr I've got a boardman comp 2013 model. My mate who's got a very expensive road bike said its spot on for what I need it for.
