he is, i guess, and thats all it is, achieving it on much lower wage bill than when he came

like somebody said to me, finishing 3rd and failing the play offs or finishing 20 makes little difference in the big picture

Finishing 3rd and failing to win promotion would at least indicate some progress.

The wage bill isn't much of an excuse when he's brought in over a dozen players and spent £4M.

its not an excuse

its a fact

you claim we're doing no better than when he came, i'm pointing out he's doing it on lower wages so we are doing better

I'm now in the keep him and give him the first 10-15 games of next season camp

However, let's see some real progress, consistency and signs that he really is building something with plans backed by one and all

Partially because I can't be arsed arguing with Cas anymore!

I'm not confident that DF can do it, but let's see

Line in the sand etc

This is where I am I am hoping he is given the backing to sign Juke and centre half and a physical midfield presence(not Trotter)

Some clown near me was withering in about Philips and lee taking over.

Another owd chap was moaning that lee came in for Davies but played in the exact same position. "Must have been instructed by freedman" he said

12 games into next season is fair IMO.

If we've not got 20 points in the bag, get rid, depending on fixtures obviously.

I'll go with that

People keep banging on about stability and bigger picture. But all I want is to enjoy going again. Performances like last night have been all to familiar with freedman. Its boring as fuck. I don't care which league were in. I accept we have no cash. What I can't accept is that this is the best entertainment he can serve up. We've seen brief flashes what they can do. I think the crowds next season will show whether they feel buying a ticket is value for money.

And me.

20 from 12 is about par for a play-off chasing team.

It's pointless setting targets for next season until we see what happens in the summer, especially how much DF gets to spend & also if we can get rid of all Coyle's shite.

We all know there's going to be a clearout, but if he has to try & replace them all with bargain basement signings, free transfers & kids, I wouldn't expect us to reach the play offs next season.

However IF he was given enough to sign Duke, McNaughton, Dawson,Danns & Mason ( in that order & I'd estimate the lot would cost less than N'Gog & Sordell ) I would be looking at a minimum of the play offs......especially if Tierney, Mavies, Wheater, Mills & Beckford stay fit for most of the season as well.

'Coyle's shite' finished 7th last season.

Coyle's shite cost us our place in the premier league & were going to take us straight down through the championship until Freedman's management & the addition of Dawson saved us. These are the same players we couldn't give away last summer.

Saved us? We're in a lower position now than when he took over. What happened to his management this season?

We were heading for relegation when Freedman took over....without him we would be in a division lower.

Jesus, that's a leap and a half

They were more than good enough to stay up, with 10 mins to go against West brom we were staying up

Its just that coyle never told them how to defend

Jesus, that's a leap and a half

Do you not think we would have gone down if we had kept Coyle ?

IMO we were skidding down the league in the same way we had during the previous relegation season & Coyle was repeating exactly the same mistakes. Of course you can't be certain of future outcomes, but from what we'd learnt about Coyle the previous season, I don't think he was capable of stopping the decline.

Do we really want to go there again :)

Agree with most of this except Mcnaughton he's 31-32 and we can get better and he's signed a new contract anyhow I'm pleased he has.
