Amr Zaki

No we aren't linked with him (I hope)

He came up on Twatter as a "forgotten footballer" or summat similar...I remembered him being really good for a short spell at Wigan, so looked him up on Wiki....seems like a complete nutter and had had more clubs than Nick Faldo:

I thought it was interesting but it may be just me :D

Looks like he had a run in with virtually every club he played for! Was only talking about him the other day actually, scored some good goals for Wigan.

What an anbsolute nut case

Badly advised or just a complete nob?

Worth a punt?

The faded footballer accounts are good Julie

I met the guy a couple of years ago along with Ibrahim Said (who we were linked with in Big Sam's reign, he ended up at Everton for a while).

Both really nice guys, but both hot-headed idiots with it!

If we are talking about "more clubs than Nick Faldo", Mario Jardel had TWELVE clubs after leaving us!!!

Still ended up with a career record of 345 goals in 445 games. Still pisses me off that he was so out of shape when we signed him. He still scored more than a goal a game in the last season of his career (albeit with a club I've never heard of).

Only 10 caps for Brazil though, and 1 goal.

It always puzzles me why he never got a move to a massive club like a Barcelona or Real Madrid when he was banging in a a goal game for Porto (135 in 129), Sporting Lisbon (53 in 49) and Galatasaray (22 in 24)....there must be a reason why no-one signed him

Didn't Zaki score the winner for Wiggin at our place in their first season in the big league?

Seem to remember him doing really well for them, but then acting all Billy Big Bollocks on the back of it and his career pretty much went down the toilet from then on.

Ignore his Sporting record as the goals were on the whole against no mark teams, something had gone in his head by that point.

A newspaper extract on Jardel from 2008:

Former Bolton striker Mario Jardel has admitted taking cocaine and says drug abuse is common among footballers.

The former Brazil international said depression and the decline of his marriage six years ago led him to the drug.

He also suggested his spell at the Reebok did not help the situation, coming in the middle of a run that saw him join eight clubs in five seasons, with little success at any.

Jardel, once one of the hottest properties in Europe after scoring 168 goals in 161 games for Porto, said: "I only consumed one drug, cocaine, but not while I was playing. I only took it during vacations.

"It all started with bad friendships. Then came my divorce, depression and drugs.

"This happens a lot in football, but I can't talk about it. I haven't taken it for two months."

In the interview with Brazilian TV show Esporte Espetacular, the 34-year-old said he hoped to learn from his mistakes and join a big club in Brazil.

Jardel signed for Bolton from Sporting Lisbon for £1.5million in August 2003, but left for Ancona the following January after scoring just three goals - all in the League Cup - in 12 appearances. He is currently a free agent.

Of the years he struggled to find form, he said: "When I went to some smaller teams, how could I score if there were no players that could put the ball at my feet? It all got worse and the problems snowballed."

Is he also the bloke who came from a really rich background and said he didn't need to play football as he was already loaded?

There's loads bang at it.

One or two pretty close to home as well.

We paid £1.5 million for Jardel?

His header at Anfield was worth it, magnificent.

Of course Jardel was playing with Okocha and Djorkeoff at the time he was at Bolton who were known for putting the ball at players feet. Maybe it's the cocaine (). Or maybe we're not the 'small' team he's referring to.

Mate knows phil babb and he told him when he was lisbon jardel used to throw cracking pool parties and bbqs after training!

His wife, Karen was a fittie, wasn't she?
