  • Peter Kays are ten a penny. There's more than one bloke in every pub in Bolton who is just as funny.   Peter Kay just got very, very lucky.

  • There's a job going with Gonk's name on it.

When it did become Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights?

Since day one.

I'm a huge Phoenix Nights fan and I'll probably try and get tickets for this, but I can't really see it working. The great thing with Phoenix Nights was the subtlety of its humour. It definitely had its less subtle moments, such as robot wars and a horse shagging a bucking bronco, but the thing that made it great was the fact that you could watch it time and time again and still see new jokes.

I'm worried that a stage show would mean it became more slapstick. I think that's what Max and Paddy was and the reason why it was a bit shit. A good thing having Fitzmaurice back on board though.

Depends how they do it. I can't see them having a Phoenix Club set and performing it like a play. It'll probably be some sort of "Brian Potter Fund Raising Event" or something.

Anyway, no doubt a live recording will be released on dvd several times with slightly different titles.

If so I hope it's better than Partridge was live

Major disappointment

Gutted I will be away, Phoenix nights along with Paddy and Max is something I can watch time and time again.

Anyway, we are going

In. Missed out on the pre sale, thinks for the link Tom.

Another 2 nights added already I believe. Is that 8 now?

Not bad for a fat bloke who only tells jokes and stories that are told by "us lot" in the pub.

Jules Darby v harsh on Partridge live.

A touch formulaic but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Might find a reason not to go!

Maybe a built it up too much in my head beforehand

He seemed a little off with his delivery

Very glad I went though

Building it up too much is always the risk with AP.

Take me to one, if they're that funny I will give them the £60 I've paid to see PK

I'm guessing my money will be safe.

Lads I grew up with were funnier, but fair play to PK for making it.

I'll take you to one, a mate of mine, and there's even a connection to PK as his brother used to work with Paddy at H-town leisure centre.

In a pub one sat'day afternoon and landlord wouldn't let us leave, free beers all round, as that many people stayed supping.
