September 16, 201510 yr Dunno about over here but stateside it's often quoted that white wimmin get on average 75c to the white male's $1 for the same role. Then the different ethnicities getting less depending on their gender. This is salary not actual earnings reduced for child birth etc.

The oft-quoted 20% is based on the median of male and female in organisations as a whole, but not, it seems, comparing like-for-like roles. When like-for-like are considered, the difference reduces significantly, by organisation. Many years ago I was the only person doing my job in the company I worked for that didn't have a company car. It took me pointing out that I was also the only female doing my job to get one (pretty sharpish as well).
