3 wickets from 4 balls for Jimmy!

  • Some going this:   THEY'VE DONE IT! Toby Roland-Jones wins Middlesex the County Championship with a hat-trick.

Ton in both innings v Yorkshire now.

1st Lancs player ever to do so according to lccc Twitter.

Said last year be worth a look at. Give him time to settle and might be on to something. Cook is no spring chicken now, hales should be at his peak but isn't consistent and we need to be looking long term for one if not two openers.

Michael Vaughn reckons most batsmen should just move up a place which would mean Root opening. Not sure about that.

Move Haseeb up a place?

to -1?

He'll be in next year

  • 5 weeks later...

Looking like he's getting the job. Well done fella.

Gracing the Old Trafford turf tomorrow.

decent day for lancs, today

optimistic they can now stay up

at the other end, somerset did their best to balls it up

from 322 for 4, lost 5 wickets for no runs

Be reet. Not going down, though a disappointing second half of season

We need rain in the West Midlands

If it doesn't rain, Hampshire beat Durham imo

Lancs would need rain to secure a draw

Otherwise they're down

Think lancs are going to lose, but not convinced Hampshire will win.

Come on Durham, you can do it!

Doing well so far.

Abysmal effort by lancs

Never in doubt

Anyone shed any light on why such a good start turned to shit?

Seem to have changed the players as the season went on- injuries, form or falling out with players?

Anderson played first few games.

Young team.

No big name overseas.

Anderson and wagner out of team made the difference

Batting consistency has been a bit of a problem for a while, losing bowlers is one thing but quite often the tail waggging helped improve the score.

As cricketers, is the standard of batting generally poor throughout the leagues and can it be improved?

Not sure what you're asking here tmgj.

get runs on normal wickets instead of shite Amatuer bowlers on roads.

Maybe.

Looking a scores, seems that if a wicket or two is lost early then more seem to follow, maybe an over generalisation. Was wondering players being signed up from feeder clubs are just not as good at batting as they need to be, or is Lancashire not prepeparing them well enough?

Croft this season been indifferent to say the least, proctor inconsistent etc.

Am I overly concerned and younger players will improve in coming seasons?

Just trying to understand why for a few years the batting seems to lack consistency; club have been a bit of a yoyo team.

All that fuss and would have stayed up anyway cos of Durham being skint.
