Anyway checked now TV. Can have sky sports for £34 a month. Still way cheaper to add that to a similarly priced ee bundle(not that I will) at £70 ish compared to Sky's £108

I've been on the phone to Virgin threatening to leave....they've pretty much matched the deal, and increased me to the 200mbps broadband (or will tomorrow when my new hub arrives) - they've also chucked 6 months of free Netflix in as well which is nice

 

They reckon they'll send me a new set top box in the next couple of months that will rival Sky Q.....we'll see if that happens

That 200 speed broadband- is it permanent for the same price or is it for a fixed period after which you'll have to pay for it?

New eos TiVo box is due out in the new year when virgin media becomes virgin TV. This could interesting for zgemma boxes with cable, they may take the opportunity of changing the security, that said all the TiVo boxes would have to be replaced, expensive. Its a bit like sky only being able to stop the HD channels on zgemma boxes because some users still have the SD boxes.

Forgot to say, I left sky in Aug and every week they ask me to come back at 60% off.

i got mine down about 30 quid without threatening to leave

 

added to cancelling an unused multiroom i was happy about 50 a month better off

 

virgin would still be cheaper as id have had uhd and two more bt subs but the sky kit is miles better

 

enquired about sky q and apparently monthly cost is the same but 99 quid install on each box

Cunts have just rung me up and said they are no longer able to honour this deal as of today.......I said it was agreed last night. A few minutes of arguing, and I'm now waiting for a supervisor to call me back. Bunch of Twunts

 

 

 

Edit: A nice man rang me back and apologised, he said they would honour the deal that I was offered yesterday....they have to do it by charging me their normal price each month and then have a rolling credit to bring my overall cost down. He said it's been ridiculous the last few days with people wanting the Sky deal matching. He said that Virgin are really struggling to compete with the deal. So now this is where I am...£60 per month, and I get 200mb broadband, unlimited calls on the landline (which never gets used anyway), XL TV Package, SkySports HD, SkyFilms HD, BT Sports HD and ESPN Sports HD.....and 6 mnths free Netflix. I'm reasonably pleased with that

I've sacked BT off as it was costing more than my gas and leccy, which can't be right. Lad I know has had massive problems with them, the CEO is involved but all their staff are Indians working to scripts. At least Sky are Scotch and speak some of the lingo, even if it takes 30 minutes to get through to them.
