August 14, 20187 yr As was always likely to be the case with the charge of affray, looking at the evidence. Go on, do tell the class why smart arse....? Looked pretty damming from the video and court testimony given. Chuffed for England but not sure what it says about the judicial system if you can twat two lads with clear video evidence and get found not guilty. Edited August 14, 20187 yr by jimmyjoojar

August 14, 20187 yr Absolutely outrageous decision Just watch the video ffs Imagine if that was lads at the match haha
August 14, 20187 yr Pleaded not guilty http://www.youtu.be/5omsx2Cyan4 If that’s not affray I’ve not idea what is.
August 14, 20187 yr Is that Alex Hales in white trainers kicking the guy in the head on the floor? If so, how did he get away with that?
August 14, 20187 yr Lots of highly publicised accusations of homophobia during the trial, now afterwards this - https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2018/aug/14/gay-couple-say-ben-stokes-did-not-deserve-to-face-trial Bit weird they weren't called, but hey ho
August 14, 20187 yr but did the guys run at him with a broken road sign and bottles - FIRST? I think this was the issue. I think it's reported that the judge had directed the jury that without a timeline of who did and said what and when, then there could be doubt thrown on both sides' testimonies.
August 14, 20187 yr Have you read the link I have now. The defence knew that they were great defence witnesses and decided not to call them because????
August 16, 20187 yr Absolutely outrageous decision Just watch the video ffs Imagine if that was lads at the match haha His defence team were critical of the media for showing a part of the video. Reckoned the full video would have shed a different light. Was surprised myself by the outcome, but, thankfully that's why we have courts and judges etc. Maybe it also helps being able to afford top lawyers, who knows.
August 16, 20187 yr Author Is that Alex Hales in white trainers kicking the guy in the head on the floor? If so, how did he get away with that? Hales wasn't charged. Hale was, but the judge ruled he had no case to answer after the prosecution case. CPS cock-up? Maybe!
August 17, 20187 yr Plays tomorrow Instead of curran Boo. Chatting on the radio the other day. Curran deserved to stay. Argument was to drop Rashid as a spinner probably wouldn't be required at Trent bridge, of Buttler who hadn't done much.
August 17, 20187 yr Boo. Chatting on the radio the other day. Curran deserved to stay. Argument was to drop Rashid as a spinner probably wouldn't be required at Trent bridge, of Buttler who hadn't done much. Stokes and Curran both played the first Test match, and it was Curran who won the game for England - very poor to drop him 10 days later (after another decent performance inbetween)
August 19, 20187 yr Agreed. I'll throw in a hand grenade too: given stokes is an all rounder, then if looking to replace like for like then broad goes..
Stokes charged with Affray.
