F1 is back

Looking forward to this season

Changes to the front wing supposed to mean more overtaking - lets see

Tyre compounds simplified

Just sat down to watch recording of qualifying. Be interesting to see if Hamilton still dominant but Red Bull the big curiosity for me this year. Will they move forward or slip back into the pack?

That's an even more impressive win then. The other fellas all had cars.

I think over time he's earned most of that luck. He earned his place in the best car by excelling in lesser ones. He gambled on Mercedes when they weren't the finished article. Today with pole he mayb

I totally agree. Skys coverage on most sports is second to none but the comms on F1 sometimes slips away

Aye, Bottas should have used a low block on Verstappen.

Listening to the Toto interview and watching the start again sadly Bottas was dreadful. Could easily have moved left and Max could have exited turn 1 in 5th or 6th. He was obviously concentrating on where Lewis was and trying to prove himself. Understandable from his point of view being pissed off at being released but did the team no favours in the end

Merc have handled his situation terribly. They are asking so much of him without offering him a contract. Always a no.2 driver. Treated him like crap but still giving him team instructions.

Can’t disagree with you there. He was looking after himself today and fucked up in the end

All going off at the moment

Lewis already got a grid penalty for an engine change

Topped qualifying

Car investigated said there was irregularities with the DRS part of the wing, too big and therefore increased the DRS gap increasing airflow

When max got out of his car he touched Lewis’s wing.

Both have been summoned to the stewards

He was measuring the gap. Can’t blame him as Hamilton was almost a second faster. That’s massive.

If Merc have broken the rules they may have fucked Hamilton’s chances for the title.

He knows you can’t touch a car especially like that

Merc will argue that he’s interfered

Measuring the gap? With his hands or did he have a tape measure in his pocket just in case? It’s millimeters they are talking about

they will argue as Rudy says that he has interfered and it is now a compromised investigation  and if they win that argument verstappen should be bent over and pegged by Geri Horner

Lewis disqualified so will start at the back tomorrow.

The team have fucked him here. Unless he knew and still went with it.

We all know how even a tiny adjustment can give the driver a massive advantage out on the track.

merc are dicks.

Disqualified from qualy and that was the only fair decision. Rules are the rules.

max needs to grow up though. He could have cost himself the race there being petulant. He’s talented enough and doesnt need nonsense to taint it.

They wouldn’t do it on purpose. Same wings same settings apparently for both drivers. Something has gone wrong clearly. Title was done before this anyway. This just cements it

Still gave him an advantage he shouldn’t have had.

Max should have been given a grid penalty rather than having to cough up loose change.

Which was why he was disqualified. As per above

Pointless what they’ve done with max as you say.

£50k fine is laughable

What’s the point in fining F1 drivers ffs. Probably makes that in interest per day

Shame though because the race now just becomes a procession. They should want their two best drivers going wheel to wheel but someone at merc wants a fucking for letting that happen.

Not sure he's petulant in this instance (he is generally though). I reckon Red Bull have assessed the data, told him, and he's been "encouraged" to go and have a look to publicly raise it. Naive at best

Correct. Red Bull are better and will win this year

Some drive by Lewis that

He’ll be there or thereabouts tomorrow

If  Lewis isn’t the GOAT then I don’t know who is

Unbelievable

Bottas needs to take Max out on the first lap.

Sorted.

Good drive that by Bottas but fucking hell that was some drive by Lewis

Only problem he has is that midfield start. You just know that there’ll be issues in the first few corners. Stays out of trouble though and he’s genuinely got a chance of winning

Only Lewis could win from there and do what he did today in the sprint. Will bottas obey team orders if Lewis gets past max? I’m not sure. And yes I think bottas holds off max and wins the race if Lewis doesn’t.

Bottas seems to be finding actual form just in time to go and drive a fucking Reliant Robin
