Best/Strongest line up?

Not seen it asked yet, but what's everyone's thoughts on how we'll set up and what the line up will be?

Obviously not spoilt for choice, but still curious

Only been to two games this season but at Gillingham I though Brockbank was all over the place and nowhere near ready; Cant remember much about the other game mind

Brockbank is good enough to play in the first-team. I'm not concerned with how he's played recently because I view those performances in the context of him playing in a team which was hopelessly outmatched.

As for the better ones, I'd say Edwards is ahead of the mostly impressive zouma

The brockbank story is heartwarming but I'm not sure he's going to make it. Hope I'm wrong

I've liked Graham and Politic

And seniors one game was really good...but it was only Bradford

To repeat, this isn't a criticism of them, all of them have played a part in saving the club and I feel we owe them a little bit longer to make the grade than one or two may have had in the past

I'll definitely be at a youth cup game if we can play it at the Reebok

They deserve that

Could you imagine, Bolton getting 5k on for an early round yc game

As for the next few weeks, I reckon weir is in the frame, unless they all get stood down for a few weeks to re charge

I really rate Matthews above Alnwick.  Yes 1 or 2 cock ups but so did Jussi and Bogdan, and De Gea seems to get tagged with being world class while throwing one in every 3rd week.  Imagine how many he'd be throwing in if he'd been behind our defence the last couple of years.  I like Alnwick but he always seems to be too short, a bit like Alexander at the moment.  So when Alnwick or Alexander make a flying save, it feels like a taller keeper would have just plucked it out of the air without stretching.  Likewise an "unstoppable" shot in the top corner against Alnwick wouldnt be so unstoppable if he was taller.

Alnwick all day if given the choice

On the keepers, I don't think there's much in it but edge towards Matthews.

On the best 11, absolutely no idea, but it's quite exciting that there's an element of mystery around how Hill will put this assortment of flotsam and jetsam together.

No mention of Darcy, do you think he's good enough?

Didn't Brockbank originally come through as a centreback or am I thinking of someone else? If he did and he can get to grips with playing there, especially in League 1, then I think we could develop him well. Don't see why a few clubs wanted him in summer unless they see the same potential.

I don't think he has the qualities to be a right back, especially with the way full backs play these days. Think he'd be a decent CB though, given a chance and if he can hold his own in a league where every team will try to be overly physical and bully him.

Politic to me looks good, but very unfinished. Seems to have a little bit of skill in his locker and he's definitely not afraid to shoot, but maybe that's not a great thing atm. I think one of his runs for Bradford he jumped through 2/3 tackles and could have squared it for a basically open goal but he went for a scuffed shot instead. I think he'd be good used in rotation with other wingers, see what he's like at the end of the year, would give more of an idea how good he can be.

If KH plays a with 3 behind the striker I really hope Darcy gets a few full games. Only 18, but think that's old enough to start being introduced if you've got enough potential. Obviously needs to be used sparingly and still develop with all the younger lads, but don't think it can hurt seeing what he can do in a proper team. He looked really decent on the ball in the few games he's played so far.

I like Darcy too. Head up and looks to play to feet. Not afraid to get stuck in.

Bit light at the moment, though a number of more experienced team mates might help balance that.

Bench I reckon.

What happened to Max Broughton?

Google has him trialling at Preston, early summer

Saw a couple of videos on YouTube LFEtv trials or something from may,

thought he was meant to be a good one?

Serious question...

where is Ben Alnwick? Remi needs resting, he must be shell-shocked by now. He's made several errors and his decision making seems suspect.

I'm surprised Matthews isn't out with a bad back, picking the ball out of the net, so often this season,!!!

Matthews does not dominate his box, can’t see how he’s in front of Alnwick.

Totally agree Casino,  I went to Gillingham too and Brockbank’s positional play cost us 3 goals. He’s got some way to go but I’m not against giving the lad a chance from the bench but if he starts, we’ll ship goals.
