Hopefully the announcement goes further than just which destinations you can visit

likes of Spain will probably end up green in a month or two

France & Spain looking like amber. UAE will be red, because it's the hub to the East.

Amber basically means you have to self isolate for 10 days on return.

Aye

Because EVERYONE WILL DO THAT

You'll need to present proof of a negative PCR test to get back into the UK from an amber/red country too, that's the suggestion.

What if you fail the test whilst at your destination?

you quarantine in that country at your expense, I guess.

Not a thrilling prospect. Hopefully things will be clearer after 5pm today.

Is Madrid on lockdown?

Don’t think they’ve given a shit all through it while other Spanish regions been fairly strict. Apparently loads of Madrid folk on the costa Blanca now even though they shouldn’t travel.

Then it’s not going to change anytime soon.

I can only see it descending into chaos if there are mini surges in holiday locations.

It’s a massive leap of faith for a family of four to go to Benidorm and risk a negative result.

Insurance companies arent going to cover any extra expense.

unless Schnapps is going to suggest people can still return but I’d be amazed.

Not happening. Nor NZ

I've a feeling Portugal might be expensive.

I don’t think any of them are currently accepting tourists

Happy to be wrong

I know some folk who've booked trips to Turkey next month and they were convinced they'd be going.

SHows how fluid the situation is abroad and how valuable a good vaccine programme is.

Yet still people were gloating about the EU's infighting and slow delivery. And now it's days out to Southport.

Looked at our favourite hotel in New yYork last night for September;  decent prices, I’ll be keeping an eye on that as a possibility.

Don’t fancy long waits in airports, mind, so happy to give travel to foreign parts until it’s easier. Then there’s th’Ashes…..

Indeed. My boss is in Madrid. She’s late 50’s and not even had her first jab yet. While our UK office has been locked down for over 12 months this week has just seen the introduction of compulsory masks in the Madrid office. Utter madness!! The regional variations over there are ridiculous
