  • Bloody cracking weather out there, shame we can’t be in the ground. Off to see my newborn son in hospital before I’m kicked out but be home for the match 2-0 Doyle brace

There's not many days this season I've thought I'd love to be going to the game. I'd love to be going today - the weather, the return of a feel good factor/optimism, and the match having a bit of

Re : Dapo, he looks far more effective down the right, but spends most of the game having to be on the left.

As for Sarc, he was only a good save away from a second half goal.

Just going like for like with the subs was a wasted opportunity from Evatt, we were crying out for quicker, more direct passing and people being prepared to run at opponents, if for nothing other than to lure them into fouls and get free kicks. Bringing Arthur on was fine but why at Dapo's expense? The only times they'd looked unsettled were when he was on the ball.

The triumvirate of Lee, MJ and Sarce didn't work and Thomason was a big miss, he can play it quicker, longer and more forward. Sarcevic had a couple of good moments first half but was non existent second half, should have been hooked. Better as a sub in the no 10 role

Doyle's looking a bit flat for me, perhaps understandably, hardly missed a minute for months. Never shirks but been on his heels a few times when good crosses have come in last few games and first touch has been poor. Miller looks a better finisher at minute.

Set pieces have been picked up earlier in the thread, awful yesterday, as were our crosses from open play. Isgrove was like a little lad on a man's pitch, couldn't reach front post all afternoon from a corner.

Agree with all of that, couldn't have put it better.

Its all good having a defensively solid midfield but if the opposition aren't attacking where is the benefit?  If its effectively attack v defence, let's play our best attackers for at least the 2nd half, give them something to think about and make them come out of their comfort zone of clearing balls on the edge of the box.

Reminded me a lot of watching England struggle against teams that sit all 11 behind the ball. We had loads of possession and looked nice passing it around but no final product due to a combination of hard work and sheer bloody mindedness from Barrow and a lack of ideas how to change it up and poor crossing from us.

3 points is the important thing bring on the Dave Wheater derby and win number 6 in a row.

Haha

as soon as the ball was played I said offside straight away.
now Evatt jumping on the bandwagon deflecting the fact we were kak on satdy.
our crossing was pathetic, our corners were woeful and free kicks couldn’t even lift over the wall.
Evatt should look at that before blaming the commentary

Amazing that we won, eh?
