Was never really into early Ants for some reason, but as soon as Kings Of The Wild Frontier came out, I was hooked (Or was it Dog Eat Dog that came out first?)

Was my first band t-shirt when I was about 7 or 8 - one of those print ones you get at the seaside - loved them. Got some 7 inch singles knocking around still.

They did some quality stuff over the short time they were around, some of Adam Ant's solo stuff was pretty decent too.

Remember when I was pre-teen my middle brother bought me two compilation albums I still love even now, Complete Madness by Madness and The Collection by Ultravox.

This was the same brother who a couple of years later also bought me the films Scum and The Warriors on VHS, even though I was nowhere near 18 years of age.

Some b-sides were flipped over and became the lead track Gloria Jones' My Bad Boy's Coming Home ((Champion) 14005) was hiding this little gem...

Castaways Club in Hindley used to blast this tune out in 1980, but at the time the mainstream was Jazz Funk.

This was regarded as a Northern Soul classic and heavily played at The Wigan Casino or The Twisted Wheel during the 70s Northern Soul Scene. The scene is still going strong apparently and somebody recently payed around £100,000 for a rare demo copy of Frank Wilson's Do I Love You

I was always a Blackpool Mecca lad in 72, the free coaches from our district and the loose women on the way home who would give you wank was well worth the 50p.

Wasn't even an itch in me father's trousers at that time. Got into Northern Soul because one of the best record shops I've ever been to is run by a bit of a Northern Soul DJing legend, Rob Smith of Rob's Records in Nottingham.

Use to have some religious nut jobs living next door to me, so if they gave me any hassle I'd play the track Black Sabbath loud enough for them to hear,!!!

You could dance to fuck to this.

Ah yes Kate Bush, one of the last people I would have thought of being sampled by a 90s dance act.

Probably my all time favourite sample
