  1. Good friends with a season ticket holder at Southampton. General opinion down there is that he looks good on TV highlights and thats about it. Very skillfull but does it any areas where it doesn't hurt anyone and has no end product. Put it this way, he'll take the p*** when he finds out we've signed him. Very much a squad player at best.............
  2. CWP I like the way you think! Been suggesting that myself for a while now. 5-3-2 with Robinson, Cole, Campbell, Terry , Ferdinand, SWP, Gerrard (Holding), Lampard, Beckham, Rooney, Owen. (What a side!) Although I agree it will probably never happen. Could have Carragher or Neville playing on the right hand side of the three centre backs to cover for SWP. Would also mean it would be incredibly easy to switch to 4-4-2! P.S. No way I'd play Hunt over Carragher. He's never going to get a game at the World Cup so what would be the point? He does O.K. for us but I think he'd struggle in a full international?
  3. Bloody awful player!
  4. Eh Dunster? That's a bit rich isn't it? I came on here to have a good honest rant about two footballers I loathe, and you immediately leaped to their defence in the style of a outraged lover (incidently, Paul Scholes was awful last night against poor opposition).
  5. That wasn't a semi now was it?
  6. Erm no, It's the one where we lost to Portugal...................
  7. No, I can confirm I'm not on drugs and even when I am Joe Cole remains a poor player, who but for the West Ham connection wouldn't have ever pulled on an England shirt. Paul Scholes was an embarrassment for England. Having the ability to pass the ball sideways and screwing the ball wide of the goal at will does not constitute a great player. Can't remember a time after the Scotland game where I thought he was effective for his country. I can't talk about Joe Cole being in the same bracket as Steven Gerrard. It's a rediculous notion.
  8. Joe Cole is possibly Englands most overated player since the equally overated Paul Scholes. He can't shoot, takes people on in the wrong areas, frequently gives the ball away and overestimates his own importance to both England and Chelsea! Won't get a start in that Chelsea side this year and anybody who thinks he's the solution to Englands left wing dilemma is going to be extremely disappointed the first time he comes up against a semi decent right back. Bloody awful player and half a decent season in a championship winning side wont change that for me![/b]
  9. Here Here Maggie! Good point, well made!
  10. Bloody hell. They sound like a lovely lot eh? Mind you, Stig Toftings family will take some beating!
  11. Did I just hear this right? Joey Bartons brother is suspected of murdering that lad in Liverpool the other day. Joey has just made a televised appeal asking his brother to give himself up? Sure I just heard it on the radio but can't see any mention of it anywhere? Mad!
  12. Just been reading an interview with JJ on GMR Website. Apparently the thing he misses most about Nigeria is the poor quality cartoons? What do you miss most about in Nigeria? I miss that family-ness, you know. Being with family, just laughing - because with our mentality we do laugh a lot. We are happy people, you know and that is what I miss.
  13. Ha Ha, I can see a divide in opinion developing amongst the sexes offering advice here! Think honesty might be the best policy? Cheers chaps!
  14. Bugger....................... How the hell am I going to get out of this one? Any advice?
  15. Should know the answer to this really but does anyone know the date of our first fixture? My girlfriend is booking a "suprise" holiday to Ibiza during September and I can feel an arguement brewing! Cheers......................................
  16. Give Mani a break lads. He can give up his DJ slot easily 'cos he's the only one involved. It's more difficult with Primal Scream 'cos He's part of a band and probably can't let the rest of the band down. Personally I think fair play to him for having the balls to stand up for what he believes in. I'm sure none of us are the biggest Man U fans, but I'll tell you one thing, I hate Malcolm Glazer much more than I hate Man Utd!
  17. If that signing ends up coming off, It'll be much better than signing Robert or Figo. Dacourt is a class act, well able to cope with the physical side of the premier league (personally reckon Figo would get kicked to death). Always been a big fan of his since he was at leeds. Fingers crossed on this one![/b]
  18. Off there on Thursday for a week for Sonar festival, belting! Can anyone recommend any decent bars, clubs or places to visit. Nou Camp's a definate but open to any other suggestions! Cheers!
  19. Just found this on Real Madrid's Website. Apologies if someones already posted about this on here but I don't get to use the site very often. Loved seeing Hierro in a Bolton shirt and he talks with so much pride about playing for us. It's fantastic. He obviously had a lot of time for the club, he talks about us as much as Real Madrid in his interview. You can see the full thing at www.realmadrid.es Fingers crossed for a Real Madrid v Bolton Testimonial! Cheers! He said good bye. He hung his kit, because as Ra??l said, with his departure, ???the captain of captains is going???. How have things gone in England? It has been a very nice experience, I would say, great. It has been a complete experience at a personal, family and professional level. I have received an exemplary treatment from Bolton, my team mates and the fans. I can only say that I am leaving England very happy. What did you discover in order for you to talk like that after just one season at Bolton? I have discovered the feeling of affection, respect??? to receive so many demonstrations of affection when you have only been a year in one team has been the most surprising thing. What is your best memory of all these years as professional? There are many memories that i keep, when my debut as professional, the first t-shirt of Real Madrid, of the National team ??? But one is beyond all that, the year of the Seventh. I have it marked, because I know what meant for the Club after 32 years without conquering that title. And I also remember the last game I played in England, where I received an exemplary treatment What was the hardest day of your life as professional? When I decided to leave the Nacional team. When after being 14 years in Madrid I left, the other day with the last game at Bolton, Tenerife??s leagues??? There are some, but I prefer to remember the good ones, that fortunately have been more.
