  1. Thanks ex-Leeds... my machine was buggered up and you saved the day! I thought that all I had a very expensive door-stop, but now it's working again. Top man!
  2. I thought one of the reasons that J.J. played so well was that he was in the "holding" spot in midfield. It gave him a little more time on the ball and he was able to select his passes and pick out his targets better. If we bring Faye back in and move J.J. forward, this will negate the advantage.
  3. He probably won't be back... face it, he is just another cyber warrior who is no doubt on some other club's board right now giving it large. Personally, I grew a little weary of these guys coming on and arguing about how great they were... made me think I had wandered onto the rivals site by mistake.
  4. Warwick Rimmer.... now you're talking! A class act who took no prisoners and was totally dedicated to the Wanderers. Pity we don't have a few more with that kind of attitude nowadays, (although Nolan comes close). I remember Warwick when we were playing at Rotherham, down 2-1 with a couple of minuts to go. The ball went into the crowd and Rimmer came over to collect it and take the throw in. As he reached for the ball, the guy in the crowd who was holding it out to him threw it away and laughed in Rimmer's face. He stopped laughing when Rimmer chinned him. (We still lost, though, but damn near wet ourselves laughing).
  5. Fair enough. Cheers, Traf.
  6. Traf, if you explain the joke in brackets like that, it is difficult for us NOT to "see what I did there".
  7. All our troubles seemed so far away Now it looks as though they're here to stay.....
  8. superwhites was a great song, but they replaced it woth some crap about "here we go again".
  9. Seems to me that Andy can't touch this guy without getting sent down, but if he found out the name and address and posted it on here, that's not illegal, right? Then if something terrible ws to happen to the little chav git, well, Andy can't be accused of anything, can he?

  11. Well, there's only me on here now... was it something I said?
  12. The Number 1 single was: Jo Stafford - "Around The Corner" The Number 1 album was: Nothing! - "The album chart did not begin until the end of July 1956." For Number 1 album over the subsequent years Click Here Born on 2nd Jun: 1941 - Charlie Watts ( drummer, The Rolling Stones ) 1941 - William Guest ( The Pips ) 1950 - Chubby Tavares ( Tavares ) 1960 - Tony Hadley ( vocalist, Spandau Ballet ) 1970 - B-Real ( real name Louis Freeze; vocalist, Cypress Hill ) Good Lord... am I the oldest poster on here.... come on, Biff, I need your help...
  13. Thanks for your help, mate. I'll buy the beer when I see you.
  14. Thanks Casino. I couldn't find anthing about England, but followed a link for the Welsh team that showed Euro Qualifiers on the 7th and 11th of October. See you guys in the middle of October...
  15. I know the fixtures for next year don't come out for several months, but does anybody know if the F.A. have announced if there will be an international break in October or November? I am going to fly over to see a few games, and have to book my plane ticket soon, but I want to make sure I will be avoiding any weekends where we are not scheduled to play.
  16. Congratulations.... she is a beautiful child, and I wish you all well.
  17. I blame the ticket office.
  18. "Canadian gobshite" ..... jesus, I thought he was referring to me!
  19. Given that last November and December our results were disasterous and we ended up with 58 points, our recent form should see us with at least 60 points. I for one would be pretty happy with that.

From what I have read, it doesn't appear to be just a matter of money, but more a case of the actual wording of the contract. If all the other players have agreed to certain conditions in their contracts, then it seems to me that you can't let Jussi have something different without everybody else coming back to the negotiating table for changes to their's. ( I assume the relevant clauses relate to pay cuts if we are relegated and the like). I agree with most on this board that Gartside can be a miserable ****** but I'd rather have him in the role than someone like Risdale who would sell us down the river. Incidentally, Sam doesn't seem to have a problem with this stance..... In Sam We Trust.
  21. Cheers, Zozzy!
  22. If you are a loyal fan and attend the games that you can, then that is good enough for me. I think everyone is just weary of the people who "adopt" a team because it is successful... hence all the Jackburn shirts worn by kids in London in the mid 90's. By the way, I live six thousand miles away now, and can only attend a couple of games a year. That doesn't make me any less of a fan.
  23. Rafa Benitez..... I'm off to the mirror to check for hair loss!
  24. just look where the borg has shoved his right arm..."resistance is futile, prepare to have your ass stimulated"
