Reet, for info, Preston plod are planning their normal big game plan tomorrow, which is sticking away fans int pub five mins from station (probably Assembly) then busses to the ground. If that's your cup of tea fine, if not either get there early or use your brains at the station. Personally I wouldn't fancy hours in there. Plus they're likely to stick you on said busses when they decide, not you!- England V Ireland
Out Sunday from Liverpool so on the beer at 5.00am, back Monday morning!- England V Ireland
In plus 3 - lydiate (ignore the preston bit!), lytham, leyland and a salford whites on tour!!- Liverpool 0 Wanderers 0

Train tickets have now gone, Flying Scotsman suggestion did the trick!- Charlton 0 Bolton 0
Quite correct - for avoidance of doubt they are for Saturday, you could always have a day in the Flying Scotsman!- Charlton 0 Bolton 0
Update - match tickets have now gone - ta very much to EyesRight and Skinner! Will accept £40 for the 3 train tickets from Manc including tube tickets, shame to see em go to waste!- Charlton 0 Bolton 0
Reet, booked the train for four of us to go on the Saturday before they changed the game to Friday which none of us can do. Courtesy of Charlton I've four match tickets available for £15 each as looking to recoup some of the £148 we'll lose! Also if anyone fancies treating any of their loved ones to a day out in London on the Saturday the train tickets are also available. 3 day returns from Manchester including all zones day travel cards for the tube - need to travel together. Depart Piccadilly 08.35, arrive Euston at 11.05. Depart London Euston 18.20, arrive Manchester at 20.42. Pre booked seats on both journeys. Will accept £60 for the 3. Now for the tricky one... 1 day return from Liverpool (no travel card). Depart Lime Street at 08.47, arrive Euston at 11.05. Depart London Euston 18.33, arrive Liverpool at 20.52. Pre booked seat on both journeys. Will accept £10. Anyone interested pm me, willing to drop em off in Bolton ish area. Ta in advance- Blackpool Away...
Must be engineering works I assume, showing no trains beyond Preston to either Blackpool north or south on the 10th!- Blackpool Away...
Now I don't want to piss on everyone's bonfire but.... Had a shufty today and (very unfortunately!) If you're planning a 'jolly boys' outing on the train you're on a BUS from Preston and the same coming back...fooking shite!! SAS style alternative planning required if you're wanting a serious drink out of the way of the boys in blue!- 29 Years Ago Today
I'm not 100% but I'm pretty sure it was this Newcastle game when the 'Bolton Chronicle' had pics the following week on the front page of the manny road north boys getting stuck into the geordies who'd decided to go in there with the head line, 'Fists of Fury' and a close up shot of one Bolton lad landing a good punch on a geordies chin! The good old days..!- Middle Class Whites
Went Saturday with 3 other lads with similar ideas and came away with much the same thoughts, wasn't just the Bolton fans there though. Anfield is rapidly turning into Old Trafford the 2nd in terms of folk going who aren't what you would class as your 'traditional footy fan'. After Saturday for me the overall experience just isn't worth going there anymore. It's a better day out going on a jolly boys outing to Fulham than either Man Utd or Liverpool now, something I never ever thought I'd say when we got promoted to the prem. Saturday was 37 notes to get in, atmosphere like a library (made the Reebok look positively boisterous!), no beer on sale in the ground, more police and stewards under the stand at half time than Bolton fans and in general they were hitching to throw anyone out who showed anything resembling getting slightly excited or heaven forbid stood up and sang during the game! Even the Liverpool fans of old can't be happy with that as a 'match day experience', number of cameras going off in the kop during the first half when they got a free kick down the bottom corner was unbelievable and sums up the folk they're getting in there these days. Best bit was when we asked an unfriendly steward why there was no beer on sale to Bolton fans inside the ground, answer was ?we had trouble with you lot a few years back and the police had categorised it a high risk game?!!....Must have meant when we played them back in?t late seventies I think!- Trouble
just heard something similar from guys who are there, trouble in the ground.- Belgrade Return From Manchester, Under ?100!

Can BWFC ever win with half of you men on here??? I get the impression that they could move back to Burnden, charge ??1.50 to get in and introduce free half time ale and folk would still moan and come up with an excuse for not going! I'm amazed at the lack of comments backing them for once given how everyone was so quick to back Blackburn when they did it for our game, saying how it was the way ahead, how BWFC were short sighted, etc, etc. Come on chaps BWFC have now done exactly the same for this game so let???s give some credit where it???s due, ok you have to go with a season ticket holder but that???s no great hardship. Already there are people on here coming up with reasons (making excuses??) as to why the ground wont be full, ''it???s on sky, it???s just before Christmas, folk will be shopping, we wont get above 22-23,000 regardless of what they charge, why with a season ticket holder, etc, etc''! If ever there???s been a chance to get the message across that if BWFC reduce the price they???ll benefit long term and increase crowds then this is one of those very few occasions. They get the biggest home support so far this season for this game and how strong a message does that send to our loveable board?? It???s certainly makes it very hard for them not to repeat it!! Yes we all know the catering???s crap, queues are too big, etc. but by far the biggest reason people come up with for not going is that it???s too expensive. Well that???s now been removed, so get off your arses and get to the game. Bottom line is if you don???t go when its ??15 for adults and ??5 for kids to watch a premier league game whether it???s live on Sky or not you wont go no matter what the club does!!!- Lets Show Our Support
Lets get in the real world on this one! Personally I couldn???t care less if Sam isn???t quite whiter than white, fact is we???ve had the best times with him as manager in the clubs modern history. If someone tells me that in order to have seen Youri, JJ, etc, etc in a white shirt at the Reebok there???s been a few payments made to whoever I just don???t care! As for the argument that if someone???s taken a ???bung??? it???s the fans money that???s gone missing, it???s no different than any other walk of life so don???t anyone moan about it. ???Bungs??? in one form of another are the way the whole world works, fact is it???s juts called something different like hospitality or incentivisation! You may think you don???t but most of us take ???bungs??? everyday single day of our life. Examples, Savings on 2 for one offers at supermarkets ??? you???re effectively taking a non cash ???bung??? every time you buy one just so they get your future custom, bottom line is they just add the cost of what they???ve just given you for ???nowt??? on to other items so ultimately you / ???the fan??? pays! When you sign a contract with a mobile phone company and they give you a ???free??? phone, is that not a ???bung????? They only reason they do it is they want your custom. Bottom line is again that you / ???the fan??? pays for it long term in one way or another. Anyone who works in any major industry as I do (which premier league footy now is!) knows full well that ???hospitality??? / ???incentives??? (or are they ???bungs?????) are offered as standard practice. As for the programme last night I???d just endorse all the other comments, if there???s all this other conclusive evidence, I do believe they mentioned that 18 current and past managers had been implicated, where was it??? Best bit for me, other than the BBC trying to make it out to be an issue, was PG trying to flog a fast fading JJ for ??3m, he should be congratulated on that one, just a pity we didn???t get it! Anyhow on a final and lighter note what about this for a chant the next time we score??????. Never mind those West Brom fans bouncing about and ???boing, boinging???, from Pompey onwards it???s bounce up and down singing ???BUNG, BUNG??? when we score, now that???ll look good on telly!!!- Greatest Bolton Goal Ever
pike mill, apologies you'd already mentioned it, just noticed! what a day!! - Preston 0 Wanderers 0
