  1. Ah, the post wasn't worded very well. I meant if Bolton fans are happy coming down to London from Lancashire for a 12 o'clock kick off on a Sunday (as Sunderland are having to make a similar trip from County Durham very soon) then Sky is good...
  2. I don't think so. The bubble is soon to burst I think - certainly the peak seems to have hit in terms of attendances. I doubt the armchair fan in your office will pay to watch matches on the television which are played in half empty stadiums.
  3. Piffle. It used to be a lot easier to get promotion because the playing field was much more level. The reason why the gulf is so huge now is down to money. The rich clubs in the top flight are far richer now than ever before, and the poor clubs in the '2nd division' are much poorer now in comparison. Why is this? Because of Sky! I'd much rather Burnden Park than The Reebok. I'd much rather The Baseball Ground over Pride Park. I'd much rather Highbury over...
  4. 1. I wasn't knocking your attendance record. The only reason you gave for Sky being good for the game was that Bolton had got better because of it... 2. SINGLE disadvantage??? My word. What about huge the astronomical increase in ticket prices, footballers being celebrity millionaires, football being fashionable to the middle classes now, clubs not giving a shit about their fans anymore (not that they ever did but in days gone by they needed them unlike now) etc etc etc. I can't name any advanatges.
  5. Northen wit is obviously lost on cockney sparras. Getting back to the point, the KC was built with potential expansion in mind. The stand opposite the (only) two tiered stand could be added to in less than 6 months. Birse did it IIRC.
  6. Which highlights exactly the difference between you and I and why we go to football matches. You obviously go to watch Bolton win games. I don't watch West Ham to win games. If you're happy travelling down from Lancashire to London for a 12 o'clock kick off on a Sunday (as Sunderland fans will be when they go to Arsenal) then Sky is good...
  7. How any football supporter that actually goes to matches can argue is beyond me.
  8. QS It would be very easy to increase capacity at the KC.
  9. :::::::::: I work for a Civil Engineering Contractor!
  10. Sky has ruined football.
  11. Could easily add extra tiers on 3 sides.
  12. In essence Ebbsfleet is a totally made up name for a town that never used to exist.
  13. We'll all have to wait and see won't we!
  14. I can only assume that because of the last 7 years you have forgotten what type of football, what type of players play in the championship, and what type of players succeed in the championship.
  15. They got offered a bucketload of money to change their name by Eurostar who want to get the Ebbsfleet name more widely known. They resisted for a couple of years but had to give in in the end. Financially they were fooked without it.
  16. He'll flop badly.
  17. Would you chaps want BSA as England manager?
  18. Lescott should have been picked before. Certainly in front of Taylor anyway.
  19. However, Defoe isn't currently injured...
  20. Any newspaper that employs Oliver Holt (and bigs him up) is obviously going to be: 1. Full of shit 2. Factually inaccurate
  21. Yossi replied to a post in a topic in Terrace Talk - 'Classics'
    Going down. It's great!
  22. Everton, Villa, Bolton?
  23. Allegedly....it spilled outside and Mr Ferdinand has been caught on tape repeatedly punching/kicking (probably pinching and scratching!) the victim.
  24. Never think he looks good technically when I see him. Goal record suggests otherwise though.
