  1. Maybe those 10,000 people all had kids to pick up, so if they didn't go early, you'd have like 10,000 kids just going mental round bolton, and that...who knows? Hmmm, do feel like I've already spent too much time (over 30 seconds) worrying about this.
  2. They reprinted a few pages from the Mail of Wed. April 21, 1926, which was of course, 3 days before we won the cup for the second time in three years. On the front page they listed the preparations: "Provisions for the 91,000 spectators include; 50,000 bottles of beer 1,500 bottles of whisky 30 tons of minerals 7000lbs of tea 25,000 ham rolls and meat pies 12,000 packets of biscuits 120,000 cigarettes 10,000 boxes of matches 50,000 grams of cocaine 2,000lbs of cake 2 van loads of chocolate" 91,000 - bet we took some away support that day, although the captain did say to the paper that "his team stood a grand chance of winning the trophy.....They were all prepared for a hard tussle full of fine, healthy football, and no one would be prouder of Bolton and its clever (???) football team than he would be if the Cup were again brought to the town". Bet no-one from the Mail would call Bolton a 'clever' team now, and i can't really remember the last time we had a 'grand' chance of winning much. My ex's gran bought her first season ticket that year, apparently, when she was 8, and had one till she was 88. Not a bad effort that. She didn't get to the 1926 cup final tho, slacker!!
  3. The lad did like a moan, but at least he's not a nazi like Bowyer, Woodgate, et al. Now those are lads you really wouldn't want to spend Christmas with. Fair do's, he's been a decent role-model, and kept out of the raping-girls-in-London-hotels business. Long career, and no muck raked up, not a bad effort really.
  4. Home games. Away days are what its all about!
  5. Simple reason we can't win the World Cup: When we won the Rugby World Cup, and then the ashes this summer, both teams had: 1. Best player in the sport (Wilkinson / Flintoff) 2. Best manager in the sport (Woodward / Fletcher) 3. Best backroom staff in the sport. England football team has none of the above. End of. Personally, i don't care, so long I get wrecked during each game....
  6. Disagree with you there Pablo, mate. Anyone could win the league with Chelsea, and the only other two league winning sides have had the same managers for what, 10 years? Put Curbishley, or Allardyce in charge of a top club and both would easily win the league. On the other hand, I don't think Wenger could do much at a small club like Bolton. Curbishley, Allardyce, and Jewell all managing small clubs and keeping them in the top half of the best league in the world. Hardly a shortage of good homegrown managers!!

To be fair, if you were as ugly as him, but you could still have any bird you wanted coz of your job, it would go to your head a bit, wouldn't it?? Anyway, Sam's been through all this with Nolan. He'll soon bring the lad back down to earth.
  8. Ian's right, you can't compare Stelios to Henrick. Pederson is top quality. Apparently we've never lost a game when he's been in the ground, or something like that....... :^o
  9. Top fishing though, wound everyone right up. And she reminds me of Natasha Kaplinsky. Mmmmmm
  10. What happened to all those rumours ages ago about him having cancer?
  11. What's the point in fourth tho? Could just end up crashing out like Everton did this year. Anywhere 5th-7th is fine so long as we're above that blue sh*te, surely?
  12. Saw him in Jumpin jax ages ago with two proper fit birds. Went right off the b*stard. :-&
  13. So where do you see yourself finishing now pal? Top 8? Top 6? Personally I'd be surprised if you weren't aiming for fourth again. Few games in hand, etc......
  14. no-one could say he always looks like a top player. Half the time, his control is awful. But then, he does nick a few important goals. Saturday's goal was alright, but don't forget there's been a few times where it's been 0-0 and he's nicked one in the last 10 mins. not one of them players you'll tell your kids about tho, eh?
  15. Just fishin, easy now!! Not like you to bite tho PB?? :-s
