England (squad): Robinson (Tottenham), Foster (Watford), Kirkland (Wigan); Gary Neville (Man Utd), Phil Neville (Everton), Rio Ferdinand (Man Utd), Woodgate (Middlesbrough), Bridge (Chelsea), Terry (Chelsea), Carragher (Liverpool), Dawson (Tottenham), Richards (Man City); Lennon (Tottenham), Gerrard (Liverpool), Hargreaves (Bayern Munich), Carrick (Man Utd), Downing (Midd'boro), Wright-Phillips (Chelsea), Parker (Newcastle), Lampard (Chelsea), Barry (Aston Villa), Barton (Man City), Jenas (Tottenham), Dyer (Newcastle); Rooney (Man Utd), Crouch (Liverpool), Defoe (Tottenham), Johnson (Everton). Ignoring the fact that Phil Neville, Carragher and Richards have all played midfield this season, there are still essentially 12 midfielders picked in this squad. The majority of which have much more ability than Nolan does; doubt he'll ever play for England to be honest
  2. Any word on Faye's injury? When he went off last night my reaction was that it wasn't for injury but because Ben Haim is better on the ball; haven't seen any reports of an injury today either. For what it's worth I thought that what little Ben Haim had to do defensively last night he did superbly, as he has done all season. Aside from an alleged injury issue against Arsenal I don't see how anyone can fault his commitment. He gets paid well for his job, and wants to do the same job somewhere else for more money. As long as it's a career progression (i.e. not signing for Spammers or Pompey) then I have no complaints

The drivel his wife writes in her column in The Times is enough to put me off for life. Decent player a couple of years ago; could do a very good job for us if he gets back to his best, but ??2 million seems a lot of money for a bit part spud. He was also the worst player on the pitch by a country mile when we played at White Hart Lane last season
  4. Close call on pace for me; don't know if injuries have slowed Gardner down, but although his recovery time is pretty good he's nowhere near an Henry for instance when running with the ball. Reckon this is probably what BWFC_Love was getting at as at times Sorin is very fast pushing it past the full back and running past him. I agree that he would be better in front of Gardner than behind
  5. He's also a red ginger of the HIGHEST order
  6. Neither player will guarantee goals, but Defoe is definitely not a ??12 million player; pace to burn but not a great finisher, and scores goals in patches. Roberts was much better than I expected last season but isn't a very good finisher either. All depends what system Allardyce wants to play next season

  8. If going off form at that time then surely you should add Ricketts as well?
  9. 11 before New Year in his first Premiership season........Michael Ricketts??
  10. Spot on that man, decent going forward and not afraid to stick a foot in. ??3 million is surely some kind of joke though? Very decent squad player, but that kind of money has to mean virtually guaranteed first team football at Bolton
  11. A truly glorious night; was it Michael Thomas that was down injured for about 6 minutes during the second half? Just remember 5 or 6 minutes stood on my seat singing 'Souness, Souness what's the score', and have detested the bloke ever since. Even if they were denied a blatant penalty at 1-0 :-$

We won 1-0 at Blackburn last season, don't remember the goals from the season before, well not Blackburn's at least. Most worrying thing about Hunt for me is not when he shows players inside, but his awful positioning on cross field passes. The number of 50-60 yard diagonal balls last night that dropped over his head to an opponents foot was frightening. I would never boo a Bolton player (that's my preference, not a criticism of others), but I thought Pedersen looked far better positionally than Hunt last night, which is ridiculous considering the games he's played for England U21's at Centre Back
  13. Gabriel Milito is a centre back, it's his brother Diego that is a striker (and a damn fine one at that too; never get him for ??3 million). Gabriel Milito was linked with Liverpool all through last summer, a bit of a nutter apparently

I have sat in the home end at Blackburn and Boro this season......and at both games the away end would have physically looked fuller if I'd sat in the Bolton stand :^o
