Just saddled a 25/1 winner. It very profitable at this time of year to back the vast majority of his runners. Also, Paddy Brennan (a highly underrated jockey IMO) has struck up a great partnership with him.
Lay NEW APPROACH. Far too short after the shocker he ran last time and, although Duke of Marmalade isn't running, he won't stay the distance in the mud if not settling early. MULTIDIMENSIONAL has a great chance and good odds at 16s.
Hull have got Blackburn away and Wigan at home before the end of August. They could conceivably get four points from those two games. Surely the manager of a newly promoted team with seven points from the first three games must be prime candidate for Manager of the Month? 4/1 looks decent value IMO.
Runs again today in the 3:25 at Chester and should go close if she gets the trip and with a bit of luck in-running. Again, 12/1 looks a big price for her.
Knot In Wood for me: same mark as when third last year (with jockey's 3lb claim) and seems in good form. That's about as scientific as I can get in this race before the pin takes over.
I'm not sure why Value Scope has chosen this race as backing the winner is pretty much down to chance!
Horrible other than a 20/1 3rd place in the 4:40, which barely made up for a desperate day. Profit gone from the first day so I shall be joining Traf in swerving Goodwood the next couple of days.
Looks like it's just me today, but here's what I shall be on:
2:15 - Hi Calypso
2:50 - Fat Boy
3:30 - Yeats (nailed on) / Distinction (best of the rest)
4:05 - Military Power / Upton Grey (e/w)
4:40 - Relative Order (e/w)
Tougher card to figure out today and I'm not bothering with the last two races. However, I fancy the following:
2:15 - La Vecchia Scuola
2:50 - Ryehill Dreamer
3:30 - Henrythenavigator (surely the best 3 year old on the planet?) / Major Cadeaux (e/w)
4:05 - Allied Powers (e/w)
4:40 - Algarade / Perfect Star (e/w)
I'm very much looking forward to Goodwood so I won't be on anything today with the exception of Nayodabayo at Uttoxeter. Should have a very good chance after running well in his first start for Twiston-Davies a couple of weeks ago.
