I'm sure some would, but not anyone with any sense who can see what's put before them. Performances improved, slightly; potential of the squad met, nowhere near. Same issues as we have always had under Evatt: • High possession rarely translates into multiple chances in a game. Risk v reward just isn't there in the way we play. •Got a soft under belly and don't perform in big games. •Too fixated on 3-5-2 even though more and more teams seem to be able to nullify us with ease. •Flat track bullies, one trick ponies. •Rarely the same level of performance for 90 mins, games fluctuate wildly. I have completely focussed on the negatives on purpose, and I know Evatt has lots of positives too!. However all the above will be forgotten if we go up, and they won't if we don't, simple as. The pressure and criticism will magnify next season if we're still in Third division as continue making same mistakes in formation, tactics and individual errors as we have this season., despite being 3rd. I'm not sure IE has as thick a skin as he likes to profess. I think an opportunity missed was the new coach, I really think we needed an experienced coach who had worked at a higher level to help IE out.

This high possession v low chances is nothing new. It has always been thus with Evatt, which is why I have never understood why we play in such a high risk manner for such little benefit. It is neither edge of your seat entertaining or allows us to score loads of goals, so what is the point other than Evatt's ego. Personally I think he needs an experienced Asst Manager who has worked at the top level and can bring some new ideas. Does this poor run of results coincide with the new 1st team coach being appointed? Did anyone really expect that appointment to be external and possibly challenge the Evatt consensus on the best way to win football matches??

Exactly, most opposition's seem to understand our formation and tactics every week, not hard it never changes!!

This! I didn't get him as a wing back but as a centre half I like him, limited, but tenacious. A little Mike Whitlowesque. My preferred back three would be Toal Santos Iredale from who we have available

And let's be honest, if we'd been in that position and got a luck FK we wouldn't have got it to the edge of the opposition box in 2 passes!! We'd have gone backwards, played it across the back and let them all tuck in and get their shape back.

I've been saying it for a long time, it's the way he makes us play that makes us brittle. When it works it's brilliant and we blow teams away, but when it doesn't we have the same recurring themes, •Struggle to break teams down who sit deep, •Prone to errors when pressed high and hard. •Vulnerable at transition as so few at the back, which is what Blackpool's tactics clearly were. •Key players have to be on form for our 'system' to function. So while we are still improving as the squad evolves Evatt has plenty of credits, but I am convinced we'd be better off playing in a way that makes it easier for us to win games, this can still be possession based, but currently the same inherent issues keep cropping up. A poor performance and loss out of the blue - 'we weren't fast enough moving the ball' A battering to out local 'rivals' - 'Apologies to the fans!' Yet they keep happening, so either sort it or change it so they less likely to keep occuring. Even when we do win, Its annoying how hard we sometimes have to work to get a win against a shit team, we rarely win any at 75%, maybe teams are up for it for us, sure they are. I just believe there are alternative ways to play that would make it simpler to win games when the planets haven't aligned as Evatt's instructed. And stop us being on the wrong end of silly results and performances that do not bely a title chasing team. This is the third division at the end of the day, just be consistent.
