  1. Rhetorically; how do you justify promotions without relegation, I just dont get it, they are all part of a season and competition?. So if you are in those promotion/relegation positions now, do you go up or down regardless?. I don't agree with that personally but really can't see how you can have one without the other, for what reason?? Then spending the following seasons trying to get back to the right number of teams in each league, is just stupid. You have to have one with the other! However, I just can't see any other outcome than null and void for the season, because then, every team has been 'treated' the same, albeit clearly with winners and losers. Any other alternative, whatever is decided; table as it is, PPG, whatever; there will be legal challenges from those impacted and still in conetention for promotion or staying up who have ben detrimentally impacted. Then the authorities will have to justify legally why they favoured some teams, through their decision making process, in front of other clubs; beacuse so far no one has already been promoted, relegated or won the Premiership!!! So fo rthis reason I am certain they will throw a bag over it all.
  2. Ha, wish I had, but then thats why I am not managing risk in a multi million pound business. And while a global pandemic is clearly unusual, it is a known risk. And a season could potentially be curtailed for numerous other reason too, war, terrorism, strikes??? So I stand by my assertion that it is odd that nothing is already stipulated on how the season would be determined if it had to be stopped early due to unforeseen circumstances; is that really so outrageous??
  3. Yes! We have had enough sighters.
  4. Does anyone else think it amazing that in a multi million dollar business contingencies were not already written into to the terms of the league? So PPG, or positions after X games, are all know before the season commences. Then we wouldn't have all this bollocks as everyone would have signed up to it. Who manages this risk?? Clearly no one but is hardly that surprising we got a global pandemic at soem stage!!
  5. Do we know that for sure? I imagine there are formal legal papers that have slighty more detail?
  6. I think it will be what was written in the judgement, if its says the 19/20 season, then that's is we have served our time and doesn't really matter what the league or other clubs wanna do about it! . I don't think it morally right but don't really give a fuck.
  7. I just can't see PPG being a goer as would open up challenges left right and centre. To cancel something due to unforeseen circumstances had to be preferable, in law too I imagine, than trying to gerrymander the results of a non completed competition. PPG would be like telling two cricket teams D/L is being used, but only after it has started pissing down to the detriment of someone! IT has to already be in the rules to be enacted, and it isn't I don't think??
  8. The argument could be we have play most of the season with - 12 points so it has already had an impact. Player recruitment. Reduced gates as season a dead rubber. Commercial hits left right and centre. So yes be great if we didn't get relegated, and we would have dodges a bullet. However, the 12 point deduction has had an impact on our club regardless so would be unfair to add a further year on. Doubt other clubs would see it like that, but fuck em!!
  9. Surely from a legal defence viewpoint the best defence for the league would be to null and void the season, act of God or whatever! Any other option will leave them open to challenge on their decision from one disgruntled party or another! The other thing pissing me off is football is a spectator sport, no games should be held behind closed doors in my opinion and that cam only be when it is safe to do so clearly.
  10. Me too, I also think once large amount of players start coming out of contract the who integrity of the season is lost anyway. Not sure that fact has really dawned on people as yet. I agree with the Acc Stanley chairmen, why would we want to extend the contracts of a poorly performing squad to make heavier losses, is a nonsense.
  11. The only chairmen bothered would be those near the top surely , mid table wouldnt make a difference to them, and those at the bottom would want the season voiding I would imagine!
  12. Last season, Partisan Belgrade v Red Star, off the scale in terms of Police, never seen anything like it, prob only 18k on too
  13. Keith your onions are making us all cry!!
  14. Flicroft will do interviews!
  15. I agree, but just like KH has done by potting the last minute loan signings necessitated by our predicament at the start of the season. Maybe FV are having second thoughts too, as let's be honest it was hardly a robust recruitment campaign??
  16. Time and time again Rochdale played out from within their own box from goal kicks. We neither pressed high as a team, or dropped off and sat back to let them have it; they simply played around us, time after time. You do not need years to devise strategies to counter these things, the players just need instruction, tactics and setting up properly. This was just one area and something obvious to most folk watching that didn't seem right, god knows how bad we were with the more nuanced stuff managers should be doing. As for Murphy, I would have preferred that lump Burton had up front last week. The one who took it on his chest, or knee; rolled defenders, brought his teamates into the game, challenged for headers, you know like a target man with international experience should be doing. I agree his finishing prowess is good, and on a free he seems a steal, however I do not think he helps us more widely as a team play better.
  17. I expect him to help us get up the pitch more, like the lad last week for Burton did. I expect him to influence the game more, he is an international striker ffs. Regardless, he is a great signing for this level and I wish we had a better team to put around him, but we don't, and he could do more.
  18. Well no idea what to make of that? We played far better than expected and didn't deserve to lose, however... Went wi mi Dad who knows far more about football than I ever will, played in reserves in the 60s with some proper players... He is also a little more subjective than me, his take was man for man Rochdale had no better talent than we did, however they were drilled and knew what style of play was expected of them. And we didn't! KH is getting defensive because he should be getting more from the resources he has had at his disposal! And finally, Murphy is fucking gash, yes he can score but adds absolutely nothing to the team. He is no target man tat is for certain!
  19. Aye, u make a good point, and it is definitely preferable to Parky. I just can't put my finger on it, but I am sure he is not getting as much from the squad as he could, or better managers could (Not that we have that luxury admitted!) The sendings off as an example, two senior players in consecutive matches!! , that does not seem to be the actions of players playing under a manager in full control?? Can't imagine similar happening under BSA or Rioch, although someone will now prove me wrong!! 😝
  20. Was actually quite fair and balanced to give hime some credit
  21. This, but other teams also use them to hold the ball up and get payers around them. When have we used Murphy like this? , it's almost exusively big high balls for flick ons or it to the channels. Is it really so difficult to work an opening to dink it up to a target man's chest?
  22. Wight has been poor all season, ever since Rotherham, yet gets picked regardless...
  23. They prabably are, so we just have our tummies tickled?? This team are not playing for the manager and do not have faith in his tactics/shape, in my opinion.
  24. Please do, and trust me I'd love to eat humble pie more than the next man when proven wrong!
  25. So you coach, and set formations up to manage your deficiencies. This is a month after Accrington don't forget, he has a lot to answer for in my opinion
