Yes, the fullbacks are a bit dodgy, yes Petrov doesn't track back, yes Davies is on the wane, but we have previously got results with these players. But you all seem to be skirting around the problem, the central midfielders, they are absolutely shocking. I would love to know the stats but the central midfielders cannot possibly be covering as much ground as those when BSA and Megson were at the club. Even with 3, the space offered to Chelsea was unbelievable for a Premiership team, and I think this has been the case is most of the matches. NRC is lazy, for Fat Frank to amble past him twice is embarrassing, and what are Pratley's strengths?? Plus if you are going with 5 in midfield, Mavies should surely be the creative one on point??? And then we move on to OC's other weakness, he bought them so will play them come hell or high water, how Muamba did not get on the pitch is just unfathomable as far as I am concerned. OC's stock is dropping fast. What really worries me is when we are bad he skulks back to the dugout and does nowt, stand in the technical area, scream at the players and front it out.

Thats great lets hope it all goes well from here on in. But after the FA cup and the last dozen games, do you really think this average management team and squad are ever going to achieve anything, they cannot handle the pressure.

NRC needs to take a long hard look at himself, can see why he was playing at fullback at Villa, let go on a free but OC thinks he is suddenly good enough to walk straight in to our midfield. Who are Pratley and NRC, why are they in our first team!!! Coyle has not got a clue, these two are utter rubbish, Muamba may well as ask for a transfer if he cannot get in that team. I bought the non-3g version ?110 quid, and is quite easily the best gadget I have ever bought, you just upload your books from Amazon through a wi-fi connection, private or public. They have gone against the grain designing a device that is pretty much for one function, reading, and it does this so well I cannot imagine buying another paper book. I travel a lot so having the ability to pre-load books is excellent, I also have a daily newspaper subscription which is great for the commute to work. The screen is black and white and is not back lit, just like a paperback, so if you need a lamp to read a book you need a lamp to read the kindle etc, however the benefit is being able to read it in bright sunlight no problems. The battery life is outstanding and easily lasts 2 weeks with daily use from one charge, and all this in a device as small and light as a normal paperback. I am not sure what the capacity is but everything is archived to Amazon so you can always recall anything you would like to read again, currently I have about dozen books loaded. Obviously you always feel you are paying over the odds for books as you do not have a physical thing on your shelf, but get over this and the Kindle is a fantastic piece of kit.

Maybe beacuse they had used all 3 subs, lennon was limping, game was wide open and we could and should have won, we had at least three excellent breaks into their box which we should have done more with. I do not rate Petrov dont get me wrong but don't think the substitution is as bad as people making out.

I think Gartside, despite his detractors has done most things right in getting the club where it is. The only blemishes are the League Cup final debacle, and giving Sammy Lee the managers job. Even the Megson appointment was succesful in keeping us up that first season despite the opposition from the fans, myself included. But in sacking both Megson & Lee he did it at the right time giving us the best chance to stay up. He also listened to the disatisfaction of the fans and acted upon it, fan liaison, fanzone, exciting football etc shows his ego isn't too big to listen and change. So looking back with hindsight I think he has done pretty well.
