I've lifted this Rivals. It's a very moving review of the day's events. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I posted this on a couple of Pompey message boards this morning.... Big Bolton and England fan known to quite a few Pompey fans sadly passed away last week, his funeral was yesterday. I can only say that he would have been chuffed to bits with the send off he received .... Westie, Fingers and several others came up in a mini bus, left Pompey at 4am....... and there were fans from other clubs too. When I got to the wake, held in Astley Bridge Conservative Club in Bolton, there were about 100 people in the bar. I met up with a couple of mates who had earlier been to the service and crem and had a couple of pints with them. My mate Critch said ' have you been upstairs yet, come on'. So went upstairs to the function room and there must have been another 600 / 700 people there, most if not all in Bolton, England or club colours. A fine sight! On stage there was a huge St George flag with Bolton Wanderers across it, and a signed England shirt. Westie was already up on the tables, getting everybody going. '' We love you ferny'' We love you Bolton'' God save the Queen'' and not a ner ner der ner or badly played bugle in sight. There were some brilliant Bolton terrace ditty's dating back to the 70's, including 'Born to be a Wanderer' and 'Bolton Fusilier' and a few others I hadn't heard before. Westie and the Pompey lads were due to leave at 7pm to come home, so shortly before this a guy got on stage and a toast was raised to Ferny, another incredible sight this with 600/700 pints raised in the air. Anyway this guy on stage says a special thanks to the Pompey lads for coming and to huge applause the Bolts break into a superb chorus of the Chimes, it was absolutely brilliant. Tears were never far away yesterday and this brought a huge lump to the throat, mine anyway. So Westie and the Pompey lads say their goodbyes, into the Bolton night and into the first snows of winter. 30 minutes later, Westie is back on his own. ''What are you doing back here'' ''It's Ferny innit'' and with a shrug of the shoulders and to cheers from the crowd he was back up on the tables. Sad day, very sad but a good day for the human race and for football fans in particular. RIP Ferny.....

I don't think anybody outside of the board room knows the real figures. Personally, I don't care about the actual size of the debt as long as it remains manageable and Sam can still get the money he needs to build the team. We're making real progress season upon season on the field and the debt is coming down slowly. All in all, a pretty satisfactory state of affairs compared with, say, the day Sam arrived 5 years ago.

I went to the scene of the accident yesterday and left a tied a bouquet of flowers to the lamp-post with a Bolton scarf and when I drove past tonight they had gone, I'm absolutely ragging fuming. RIP Ferny, you were too good for them thieving Salford fuckers!

I thought tonight was a massive improvement on last week. It was good to see Potter and Young Kenny again along with Les Alamos.

I've just got my hands on both DVD's. Which is the best? Which to watch first? Do they contain the same jokes? I'm currently favouring Spikey because: a) He writes some of PK's stuff anyway. He's NOT a Red Bastard c) He didn't charge well over the odds for a charity do, thus not diverting money from saving kids' lives! d) My gran loved Chain Letters when he was the host!

Too soon to tell, but we should know in the next 5-6 weeks. ie before the Transfer window re-opens.

As long as he was only maimed and not killed, that would be fine. Death is too good for that murdering Fenian fucker.

Apparently half of all London's Police are being deployed for the visit in an unprecedented show of security. Be a shame if the tables turned and the RAF accidently shot his plane down as it enters British airspace, wouldn't it?

Where? Bergeracs?

Point taken re: Sept 11 However, the Yanks have still been involved in overt and covert terrorism for years. Northern Ireland, Grenada, Korea, Vietnam, Colombia are examples of them getting involved where they aren't/ weren't welcome.

He can fcuk Off! He's a bigger terrorist than Saddam and Osama combined. The Yanks have been funding the IRA for years and a succession of British PM's have tongued their arses, despite the deaths of hundreds of innocent British civilians.

More like Dyno Rod: full of shite.

Nope, not my cup of tea either!

A decent enough artist in both groups and also as a solo performer. I thought he struggled in Burnley's midfield though!

If he's taking, his ears must be used to hold on to!

There's plenty more Werthers Originals in my pocket, you know!

How about a set of talentless twats? ie Lofty the Lion and A Set of Talentless Twats. It's quite catchy.

What do you really think of our resident tipster? Personally, I think he's just a misguided, well-meaning young boy with a heart of gold! :^o
