  1. 20-2 now.
  2. you're just being stupid now. you will be suggesting there was triangular fire next! and that you spotted jack ruby near the dugout.
  3. Only one DJ in Bolton. Chris Kendall. Look him up in the Yellow Pages. He's a Peter Kay fanatic as well. You must have seen his van around town? Red with Chorley FM in big letters on the side. He does music and karaoke. Good bloke.
  4. What frustrated me once again was how biased the interviews were last night as per usual. How about... "So Mark, the obviously penalty debate to one side, do you think Robbie Savage was lucky to stay on the pitch after his reckless challenge on Ricky Gardner in the opening minute? And after his deliberate handball a few minutes later. And then after his multiple petulant fouls during the match?"
  5. great game last night. was well impressed. apart from one appauling long pass straight to Friedel. he distribution, ball retention, tackling, organisation, leadership and overall presence should win him the captain's armband. no coincidence that our upturn in form has coincided with him coming back into form. when he bollocked ben haim - it showed that he really cared. for me that is something that we lacked during our poor run.
  6. I think he may have been caught twice! The pic shows the glove on his ankle. However, tv replays suggest that Friedel's shoulder catches his other leg - which king of swings it against the standing leg and causes him to go over. The fact that Lee Harvey Oswald was sat in the Book Depositary across the road is insignificant in my eyes.
  7. ANOTHER 3 POINTS. Poor performance though.
  8. I think the camera from behind the goal shows that Friedel's trailing hand catches Diouf and makes him tumble. You see. Watch it again later. Definite contact. As there was when Lucas Neill handballed it. As there was when Savage nearly crippled Gardner.
  9. Steve Bennet for not giving a definite penalty when Henrik's shot was blocked by Lucas Neill's hand. Blatant.
  10. Soooooo cloooosseeee! Thought he might have snapped Savage's ankle with that 2 footed tackle in the 65th min. No more than the Welsh git deserved. He nearly did the same to Ricky G in the first minute.
  11. Roundish guy with ginger hair? Used to wear a combat jacket in the Paddock?
  12. Had a lot of quotes and discussions. Ended up with Mark Forrest. Did a good job - I was able to haggle on price - seeing as MF reckoned they would match or beat any quote. They struggled to get to the lowest I had, but got quite close - I ended up paying part cash. Also, take a look at www.holmebrookconservatories.co.uk - I know the guy there. Might be worthwhile having a word with him.
  13. would recommend it. good atmosphere and a great experience. barmy army were at opposite side of the ground from us. i imagine if I had been with a larger group of lads we might have joined up with them. however, a few diehards are getting a little frustrated with the BA - becoming too commercialised. Rumour had it they made around ??400 per person from the test in Joburg. I know for sure that I could get flights, accom and match tickest nearly ??500 cheaper than they were offering. However, its all about whether or not you wanna join in with a large crowd. They had organised evenings, BBQ, nights with ex-players speaking, etc. I would really like to travel with a larger contingent of lads - possibly a posse from off here. Think that would be something very worthwhile. spoke with Brixton today - talk of a trip to the MCG in 2 years.
  14. Canaries is superb for the weather. Try to avoid Tenerife though, too much cloud. Gran Canaria is my choice of venue for winter sun normally. Never rained once in about 7 or 8 visits. Rumour has it Brixton is off to Lanzarote with the Beach Boys tomorrow. Keep tuned to Sky News next week when the latest Tsunami hits Africa - caused by Brixton dive-bombing into the sea!
  15. Cheers for the match lads. Quality was in abundance early on and we should have been a couple in front. After that organisation, team spirit and fitness proved too much for us old timers! We use this as an excuse every time, so its about time we got it sorted. I think we would definitely give you a proper run for your money next time. As for my reckless tackle on SB (your third goalscorer) - hope he didn't take it personal! I let him score your last as a make-weight. Honest! Good luck lads.
  16. Astley Bridge CC is in my veins mate!! Watched my dad play for them all over the Bolton league. Never took up the game myself. Not a big fan of cricket! Just an interested observer. Think its a cracking game, good atmosphere, etc, but not obsessed by it. Think I remember Mudasser playing for Horwich? And you had that bloke at your club who was about 7ft tall? Don't think he played cricket though.
  17. don't wanna be wide of the mark - but I guess in times like this a marriage can be seriously tested. a couple of hundred quid would probably go a long way to giving Mr & Mrs NW a much needed "diversion". I imagine they are going to have some long and tiresome days. a decent meal in a top restaurant with a bottle of bubbly wouldn't do them any harm. got to keep them strong for their daughter.
  18. Hope you aren't buying that top for today? Jay C texted me last night and said he had a full kit for us - orange tops, black shorts and socks.
  19. just polished off last nights kebab and cheesey garlic bread! i'll be a fully fit fighting machine by 1pm.

How many pops at my oversized tum are we going to have? Jay C. believe you me, if the XL TWTA top fits me, it'll fit you. Do you want me to test drive one today to get the shape right for you? Seriously, I will join up with you lot around 1pm at the venue. Which pitch are we using? The ones behind the health centre, the one in the bunk or the ones on Long Lane? Out on the lash with Mrs Smiley this evening in town. Then she will demand all night sex before forcing me to eat kebabs and pizzas etc. Thus my fitness may be a little below par! Is Travis Bickle not playing? He has been on about playing a game for WWXI for ages?

  23. we have quite a few. got to grin a bear it. fact is, being self employed means your customers are now your boss. they say jump. you jump. Ask Ivan Kempo or Bob da Plumber about dodgy customers. he has a back catalogue of horror stories. same i guess goes for Zoz.

Feck me. Some of the townships I saw on my way through the Kruger area (Mpumalanga) were pretty piss poor. Corragated sheds with bits of bin bags for walls - and these where the posh houses! I found it hard to believe that after visiting Sandton (which is like Beverly Hills and very, very rich) - to see the poor quality of life in black areas of the country. The politics of this country are so complicated. I had a good insight from mate out there. He told me a lot. 7 richest men in SA are black. Basically every company, organisation, whatever has to have a token black person involved to meet with government directives. Because of this, many white companies have literally just employed black guys in CEO and MD positions. Hence the 7 guys who are very rich. They are each CEO of over 50 companies each. They know nothing about their roles in these companies. But get a huge whack of cash for heading them up. A number of elite blacks are now the richest in the country. The whites are very, very comfortable whilst the majority of the blacks are very, very poor.
