  1. Chim chim-in-ey, chim chim-in-ey Chim chim cher-oo! Coyle F**ked off Burnely 'cos he's white and blue
  2. I live in on Bramall Lane so this fixture but the other way around would of suited me! but I think we have a good chance of progressing. Wouldn't fancy a replay down in london should it go to that.
  3. yeah it was 1999, drove all the way to ground before finding out it was cancelled
  4. york city. nice day out and we'll get through... maybe ish
  5. I'm off to brugge on sunday, know of any good bars?
  6. I think the problem is lack of alcohol/places to drink before the game. The reason it was so loud at the arsenal game was that it was a 5.15 k.o on a warm day. When we were at burnden there was lots of pubs around the stadium and you could sup up your pint at 2.50pm and just about catch kick off. The stuff they serve in the ground is crap/expensive and theres little on offer in the fanzone. I'm not slagging the club off, I just think the lack of places to drink affects the atmosphere. Theres only a few pubs to go to around the ground and all of which are jam packed to the rafters. I know alot of people that choose to just go into town watch the game on illegal tv and spend less than a match ticket on beer. We have an awsome stadium, it's just a shame it's not in the town centre, this is why I don't think the reebok will ever have consistantly good atmosphere.
  7. Just watched the classic Carlisle v Plymouth game where the keeper scored with the last kick of the game to save Carlisle from relegation out of the football league. Thats got to be one of the greatest moments in english football. can any one else think of a few belters? Just getting a little excited now for the football season to start again!
  8. I don't think many people drink near the ground, I bet if a half decent pub opened up on either chorley new road or the A6 it would mop up on a match day, beehive is full of away fans and the brinsop isn't exactly a pub you would go to before a game. JSL
  9. Marseille had a bar that opened through the week, dont think it had anything to do with the ultras though. I don't think there are any wanderers pubs anymore since we moved from burnden.
  10. Yeah, but I think they have a supporters bar and meet up during the week to organise displays etc, its not just on the day of the game.
  11. The whole 'Ultra' thing has a bad name in Europe because a minority of them such as Roma fans behave badly. Ultras believe in supporting the team by non stop singing right through games, colourful card displays and waving flags around. It would be very difficult to set an organisation up for that as it will take alot of time and money, but if enough people are interested it could be done. The nearest team with 'Ultras' around here is Accrington Stanley, other Bitish teams include Aberdeen, Crystal Palace, Middlesbrough to an extent and York City. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LNuGbE849g Just seems like abit of harmless fun to me, they just travel to games together and theres plenty of drinking involved! it's just another form of supporters club.
  12. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned on ww yet, but the WSC magazine for August has a double page spread of the wanderers division 2 winning side of 1978, there are some belting pictures of fans outside the town hall and the open top bus going through Le Mans Crescent. it's a good little article for anyone who doesn't usually buy the mag... and no I don't flog magazines for a living.
  13. Sadly I work for asda at middlebrook when i'm home over summer, they call that arse slap thing the 'pocket tap' and you actually get encouraged to do it. The adverts are quite embaressing yes.
  14. I'm off to oktoberferst, whats the cheapest way of getting to munich? we went on b.a from heathrow for the wanderers match but now I am a skint student! I have checked out easy jet and non of the flights suit, would flying to a different city and training it down be cheaper? flights from gatwick are the cheapest but mean I will miss spurs at home and its a pain in the ass driving down there. Sorry to turn this thread into trip adviser, but any info would be great!
  15. the flag in the square in guimaraes, I still lurk for fear of being tormented
  16. 11.30 at sinclairs oyster bar near victoria station. Cheap beer!
  17. I dont think he would go to sheffield utd at this time in his career, i've been watching them a few times and they are absoultely shi,te, they'll probably go straight back down again. Although stoke survived and I was sure they'd go straight back down. Davies might finish off at sheff utd but probably when they're back in the championship and he's getting closer to the end of his career.
  18. There was one at city the other week with fergies head on it, it inspired me.
  19. whilst we're on the topic of last game of the season, anyone taking beach balls to city? and no they're not childish and immature they're very entertaining! When everyone took them to liverpool a few years ago it looked really good, and i seem to remember quite a few red beach balls at spurs away. City fans usually take those bannana inflatables things! I'm going to have a look for the most ridiculous inflatable I can get hold of.
  20. Come on the blades! I live just off bramell lane and you could here the noise when they scored on monday night. It would be great to hang my flag out of the window when bolton come to town and also maybe when they play wigan. Selfish reason but oh well!
