Burton Albion (H)
Don't think he's up to it, but I feel McAtee is in the last chance saloon. He will be a big earner and we need a bully of a striker.

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when Sharon offered SS the job, I would be surprised if he was told that he had more funds available than has actually played out, 12 months down the line?

Leyton Orient (H)
I do enjoy the commonly held, views of our club that are shared on Wandersways: The general standard of football and officiating is as bad as most of us can remember. We have consistently been pretty rubbish particularly away from home. We create many chances that aren't converted. This must be addresses either by coaching, this hasn't worked or we need to buy a proper bully, fox in the box striker in this window. This will give us the best possible chance of promotion this season, that is imperative. I just want to refer to 2 of our players. MAX Conway, a bonus to our side in the last year or so that we have developed through the ranks. He's impressive going forward making mazey runs, not much comes from them but they are problematic to defend against. He isn't a full back. Not strong or quick enough and is often tactically out of position. He needs competition to raise his game and improve? McAtee. He signed for a lot of money and I thought and hoped that he would deliver. But unfortunately he has been given more than enough chances to prove himself and failed. Too many flicks and tricks that just don't come off. He isn't quick enough to find space or run clear of a man. Bottom line, he just isn't as good as he or IE thinks he is. He will be on a good wage, so moving him on will free up a good wedge. God knows how we would do that. Promising signs from EE and Simons in the second half, they need more confidence. Dalby is improving.

Phew, that was hard work. Better 2nd half, Conway struggles defensively, too slow. Good fight shown by simons and Christie. We really wobbled at the end. No idea what the ref was on? Just hope we can shake off this poor standard of football. Hopefully we can get a bully of a striker in soon.

Is this where a good manager changes a formation or motivates the players?

Cliche, but watch how often our players second touch is a tackle. Poor standard.

Morley impressed me in his early days. However I think his progression has stalled. He can pick out the odd great pass and has occasionally shown to have a potent shot. But he reraly gets forward, often passing sideways. He can't tackle and isn't effectively fast or strong. That said he was cheap and we would sell him at a profit. Cause for concern is the form of Simons and erahahan, neither of whom have impressed in the past few months. But neither has the team in general.

Simons is so frustrating. Really short on confidence, not improved since his promising start to the season.

Stevenage looking for a pen at every opportunity....

Really, how do you know this?

Wigan Athletic (A)
Mutch improved performance today against a biz wigan team. A better showing from simons today, particularly in the 2nd half. Like many sports, confidence is so important, and he seemd to have a bit of that today. Need to push on and get a good run going...

Cogleys strength is his pace. Bombing down the wing, provided support for ACD. He can't tackle, at all. Regularly grabbing his opponent from behind. Can't head the ball and his weakness is kicking the ball, shanks it a lot. 1st div is his standard. The silence re incoming player(s) is deafening. I hope our money hasn't run out or maybe the financial support for the manager is being held back. SS would have been told what his financial position was when he took the job and I doubt that convo was about just 1 transfer window. We'll see?

Of course there is, but every manager would want a bigger budget. If your not bringing youth through, then splurging the cash, (wisely) gives you a better chance of success, surely.

A disappointing 12 months, relief from getting rid of evatt. Albeit he was allowed to waste good money Immediately prior to leaving, why? Poor form to end the season, SS given a pass cause they were IE players? Poor recruitment from fergal and his team. No player, other than maybe Conway has improved under SS. After promising starts from Burstow, simons, forsse and ehanrahan, they are now worse, why? The away form has been shockingly bad and whilst the home results are better, the quality of football has been poor. We have been "poor in both boxes" for months and this hasn't been rectified. Only a couple of weeks ago we were short 2nd favs to get promoted, but I wouldn't back us now. I do wonder if the well is dry and we can no longer effectively compete for the quality required to get us out of this mess. Pressure on the owners, it seems to have got quite sour. Sacking a manager is a painful and expensive process. Replacing him with a better one seems to be a difficult challenge too?

Port Vale (H) - EFL Trophy Last 16
I so wanted SS to succeed but it is, slowly becoming difficult to defend his lack of impact. The variation of formations is a mute point. None of them seem to work for our players/manager. He still doesn't know his best 11. Quickly looking like a mid table league position, given what we have spent relative to many other clubs and the poor standard of this league, that is just not good enough. It's shit when the manager fails you but it might be happening again.

Super John, not happy either....

In terms of sell on or return, we have not 1 player who is getting a 7/10 currently. For a fan and a manager, the drop in energy and confidence is a big worry. And as a few have said, what's happened to us?

I dumb it down to its basic level. But it's a fact

Johnston just committed himself on the half way line and was nowhere near recovering. Basic shitness

We need to practice ball kicking. Take too long to get a shit shot off. Pressure building on SS. These players seem rudderless and unmotivated. Radical subs I we speak.

Getting fannied here, to a man we are slower and weaker. Eraherahn running with a fridge on his back. 2 wingers, no striker.
