  1. If Diouf's going to the party, it'll be spacecake
  2. Sammy Lee actually played 4-4-2 for two games. We beat Reading 3-0 and lost narrowly to Everton; a good performance nevertheless, just marred by the presence of Cid in defence. The linking factor?- Davies was not available, Diouf and Anelka up front; as soon as he was anailable again Davies was back in and we reverted to the usual. Perhaps a challenge- "I'll play 2 from 3(4 if you include Helgusson) and it's up you to keep your place" ?
  3. Doubt many think that, but, as with Harry Redknapp and Matt Taylor, why wan the Elk sold, before a replacement had been acquired ?
  4. After the first match against the geordies everyone in the stands was looking around, shaking their heads, and uttering phrases such as 'it's going to be a long, hard season....' Apart from the odd game, nothing has changed, except we could score the odd goal then. We are also having no luck, legit goals disallowed and pens not given. Alas I fear we're dropping out of the league!!
  5. Fulham wanted to sign him in the transfer wondow, but the ginger one wouldn't sanction the move. Either doesn't want to loose him or doesn't want to risk him doing o.k. for a relegation rival
  6. Put a couple of prozzies up front- would keep Rooney and Ronaldo happy and distracted for a while Then again, when do we ever play 2 up!!
  7. There'd be none of this totally negative pap! He waas on't telly the other night his enthusiasm for the game was there in spadefuls. True Hull are doing well but when pressed about promotion there was none of the usual "I've banned th p-word" shyte. Just "If people want to dream then great; there's nothing wrong with dreaming..." The bloke seems more connected to fans and was around when the game was played for the enjoyment and not the corporate tossers. The team would be far more positive, and there'd be more fans in the ground. Feel some sympathy for Megson, but it's time for a change in ethos: I cetainly wont pay ?400+ next season for this. ATTACK
  8. At least on the bench Some options instead of some Pole who looks like he should be selling conservatories. If Chelsea really are interested then the lad must have something. That Wolfe fella also did ok given the circumstances
  9. much of this is his fault rumours abound Re a consortium with him. If he returns, I'm outta here. Possibly so, but he might just have enough loathing for the geordies to succeed in keeping us up and send them down Dream, dream, dream...
  10. Dead right Anelka hardly played in Europe when he made it obvious that was one of his ambitions, and what chances of attracting players in the future when we are seen as a club with no ambition
  11. Absolutely Sponging feckwits
  12. Because there aren't any Under Lee we had Anelka and therefore always one positive
  13. Sir Awex left a few minutes before the end. Must have been pishing himself. HE will be resting a few prior to far more difficult challenges ahead
  14. "We've never been a free scoring team...." This was the start of his justification for not playing attacking football and scoring goals that he spouted a couple of weeks ago. Actually Gary; it's your job to ensure that as a team we pose a goal threat and score some goals. This is fundamental to winning football matches. This is fundamental to staying in the league. Fulham, Birmingham, Wigan, Reading and Boro are now all posing some sort of threat and will score often enough to win the odd game. Cannot see us winning another game unless something truly amazing happens....
  15. The writing's been on the wall for weeks- Megson's usual line about the confidence not being low and the players' effort being great is utter drivel. The evidence is there for all to see. Tactically inept; the same style with three managers; long ball, poor passing and virtually no goal threat. His honeymoon period passed and he's showing his true colours. As for not replacing Anelka, he himself said money was available irrespective of his sale, so most of the additions could still have been made; but he singularly failed to line up a replcement for a guy who's transfer was 'done' weeks before it actually happened- if no replacement could be found then Anelka should not have been sold- and Megson as the manager should have ensured one or the other. The players have clearly lost belief. Perhaps Diouf's replacement is evidence of unrest in the camp? GUTLESS CLUELESS IDLE TECHNICALLY DEFICIENT Alas our initial fears have proved justified
  16. Cheered the rafters off when the deliverance cast scored at Newcastle in the 90th minute. Then cried when Reading did likewise a few miles south!
  17. A stato near me brought details of Megson's entire managerial record- around 150 wins in approx 500 games. In the prem his win ratio is about 1 in 8, with us a little better. Perhaps shouldn't have been appointed, though it's too late now. Confidence is shot; just need some backing from the stands and devine intervention
