  1. Bonham Desmond, Toal, Johnston, Conway Sheehan Kenny, Rodrigues, Gale McAtee Dalby (Selection from the usual ‘forwarded many times’ and my take on the shape based on the selection)
  2. If they were all fit then I don’t think they’d all necessarily be playing tbf EE has been fairly disappointing the last few months, but I think he’s a(nother) victim of the system not really suiting him. I can see a player in Apter, but he’s the one player who I think could actually work as a 10 but not bothered giving him a shot there. Forss looked promising early doors but that seems like a lifetime ago.
  3. In Plymouth yeah. But the last time I was down here I mentioned on here seeing Sarcevic, Doyle and Brockbank at Costa and they were all gone within a month 🤣
  4. Don’t want to alarm anyone but we’ve just walked past George Johnston going for a brew
  5. Knew there was good reason for coming to this game….to tick off the Spoons at New St 🙃
  6. Can’t remember the score, but it was moved so late that the club were refunding pre-booked train tickets Seen us there twice. Lost 4-0 and 6-0 🙃
  7. As much as I’d love that to be the reason, it’s been done so they have a bigger gap between matches. Think we did similar away to Charlton a few years ago (though that may have been Saturday to Friday)
  8. Yeah Lowe is a good shout for being one of the few who stuck around through the worst of it (and bonus points for being a Leigh lad, obviously)
  9. Fair. Though I would always like to think that a goalkeeper should naturally be commanding and talkative.
  10. Never went on public sale so very few knocking about Barnsley away on Sky on the Friday, and also Sheff Utd? WBA home and away were both Sunday on Granada along with Swindon away. Possibly missed one or two others.
  11. I’d much rather have 11 captains in a similar vein to 96/97, but bloody hell when was the last time we had an actual ‘leader’?
  12. The one shirt missing from my collection Play off semi at Wolves is one that always springs to mind. Must have been loads of games moved to a Sunday in 96/97 too. Myth that it’s a recent phenomenon.
  13. You are joking, aren’t you? “It’s half time and it’s 6 apiece here at Uzbekistan v Vietnam, so we’re off to Gabriel Clarke in the England camp to see what the lads had for dinner and whether it’s an omen that they saw a road sign for Route 66” Nailed on Sheehan and Toal both play on Tuesday. Can’t wait for them both to be out for the season when one pulls his hamstring booting the ball in to the face of the other.
  14. Those Sunday games on Granada were very much my first real connection with BWFC

Massive loss, that. Certainly the better of the January signings. Up to Gale to step up now (assuming we’ll keep playing wingers)
  16. I’m completely reliant on us playing Stockport, Bradford or Huddersfield. And even then probably finishing 4th so we’re the later game 🙃
  17. We’ve got three centre backs who all look uncomfortable in a two. Conway and Tutu both look much more suited to playing as wing backs. Would surely make so much sense to play three at the back and play with wing backs, but it feels like SS is picking the system before the players, rather than finding a formation that suits the selection.
  18. Yeah before the match we did three pubs near the station and then on to Hog Noggins in Burslem which was outstanding. After the match we had no issue getting in Bursley Ale House nearest to the ground. Old Post Office opposite was a let down, was like a crèche. Post Office Vaults was excellent though as was Jonny’s Micropub. Looked like we missed out a couple of decent ones too or we’d have never got home!
  19. Well if that doesn’t sum the day up, nothing will 😂 Good day of boozing was the saving grace because the match was bloody horrible
  20. Don’t remember them really having a sniff tbh and certainly remember that being the general consensus in the Leather Bottle post-match but the £7.40 Estrella may have clouded my memory
  21. Tbf I think there’s a reasonable point that we’ve had some stinkers in amongst the last 5 games Doncaster 90 minutes; Rotherham first half; Wycombe at least 70 minutes; huge chunks of the Blackpool game Even Reading away we were distinctly second best for large portions and Lincoln tatered us for a lot of that (discount that one given their league position) You’re then as far back as Barnsley at home and our arses collapsing for the second half and all of a sudden there’s only Exeter away and Wimbledon away since the end of January where we’ve had a genuinely solid 90 minutes. Not wanting to be too dramatic about it as points mean more than performances, but it doesn’t read back very well.
  22. Absolutely dismal. 16 players all trying to do their own thing and looked like they’d never met before. I really do wonder what they do in training. Sick of seeing opposition teams seem organised and well-drilled, knowing exactly what they need to be doing when the ball is in a certain area. We just try to use the element of surprise, but of course everything comes as much as a surprise to our own team as it is the opposition. Not necessarily looking to single him out, but Burstow looked lost on Saturday even when we were on top and tonight he just looked so hopelessly out of place. I don’t think he knew where he was supposed to play, and it showed. Far from alone in that, mind, with so many players just shoe-horned in with no balance or evidence of a greater plan. I know it was always going to be a big ask to maintain momentum for another couple of months when it all seems done and dusted, but we can’t afford to end up having to look over our shoulders or head in to the play offs in a malaise like tonight. And of course with the Cardiff result tonight we should have only been six points away from them if we’d not made such a mess of Saturday and tonight. 24 minutes, and that was even after staying to the bitter end!
  23. There’s a weird obsession with being down the front, too. I have been in Famous Five Lower a couple of times this season so the same section as the Ultras and you can’t hear a word they’re singing, you just get the thump of the drums. Anyone starts a song elsewhere and again gets drowned out by the drums. Glad that Bolton fans have stayed fairly resistant to this sort of stuff so far and works even better when it’s unreserved seating. Singers/standers up the back, if you want to sit down and watch the game then go to the front. Done.
  24. Fuck sake, they used the Hibs ones in the photo They’re a fucking pain in the arse btw and sucked all life out of the atmosphere
