Shame we'll never see crowds able to travel impromptu like that again...15-20k heading over the hills - with not a client reference number between em.
-
His goal at Blackburn in 78 was just on a prog called Mavericks on itv4...don't think I've ever seen it before. Quite a few jumped up in Blackburn end when it went in...some of the 15-20k Wanderers fans there that night. A game I was just too young to be taken to. His Ipswich goal was on as well, which I never tire of seeing. 8 caps for England - what a waste.

As one of the few who tries to get a bit of noise going in the NSL, bring it on lads.

5 minutes after Lenny has done his lap of honour. :-)
-
Exactly - I don't want NL looking round thinking "is this it?"
-
I hope people don't fuck off 10 mins before the end. I'm not saying many of the players deserve much of a clap but it would be embarrassing if when Lenny does the walk round the pitch it's just a sea of empty seats. The buses won't go without you and you've got the rest of the day to sup, so give it another few minutes eh? Makes us look a right fickle bunch of fuckers, which as someone else has said, would be about right for plenty on here.

Sorry, thought you were referring to in the ground rather than at the party.

We've not had fewer than 12,500 home fans all season (including shit winter night matches) so be surprised if there are less than 17,000 on. If you've stuck with it this far why would you just not be arsed tomorrow?

Well said gonzo. Some folk on here seem incapable of any other response - to anything -which doesn't involve moaning like fuck. I really don't know why they bother with BWFC if it makes them so unhappy.

Almost sold out the 3,600 tickets they've got, don't know if they're getting any more. They can make some noise too these lads when they put their minds to it - but so can we, so come on, get along - and let's at least go out on a high.
-
Let's turn out in good numbers and in good voice on Sat and show NL we're right behind him for next season. They're bringing plenty, so would be nice to have a decent atmosphere. What's gone is gone, it's all about getting ready for a massive year ahead. COYW.

Impressive from us. I was there in 93 and I imagine the joy I felt when Browny stuck away the winner wasn't far off what diehard Bournemouth fans felt tonight.

Social media has a lot to answer for. Fuck me, listen to yourselves! (some of you). We were beaten by the best team in the league - who needed a win to get promotion to the top division for the first time in their entire history. A team who've scored goals for fun this season - against much better defences than ours (which is shit, by the way - and entirely Freedman's and Coyle's). We're limping to the end of our 4th - at least - sorry season in a row, patched up, with a lot of the players who we'll mount a challenge with next season still out injured. I hate to think what wandererways would have looked like in 1985-86...after games like Bristol City at home. Let's get a win on Saturday, re-group over the summer to get ready for a decent year ahead...but most of all, calm the fuck down! Some of you will be dead from the stress of it all otherwise and miss out on our renaissance. NLSWA.

None I know complained. In fact not many decided to come up for it. The numbers travelling every week have dropped off significantly compared with say 10 or 15 years ago - for a number of reasons, the cost of Virgin trains being the main one (unless you can organise yourself to book weeks in advance as two or three I know regularly do).

Doric Arch at Euston tomorrow. Not feeling much love towards the London Whites from a few off here. What's that about? As someone who was one for donkeys years I can tell you there's certainly no free tickets and no superfan tendencies amongst em. Just a fine bunch who spend a lot of time travelling up and down the country following the team they love (without wanting or expecting to be bigged up for doing so).

Played in the CONCACAF Champions League Final in front of over 100,000 fans in Mexico City last night. Surprised he's still playing to be honest. Disappointing for us in my opinion, could have done more to keep us up. But then so could a few more in that team.
-
I think he looks terrific. He hadn't played in the first team til a few weeks ago and now he's a regular. Lennon wouldn't do that if he wasn't intending him being a part of his plans. He's big, strong and quick with a great left foot. So he's misplaced a few passes, fuck me, so what? There were some near me on Sat moaning like fuck every time he didn't beat 5 players and stick it in the top corner. Folk like that can fuck off - we don't need em.

What an incredible sight a full Burnden was pre-Normid and pre-seats in the Lever End. We held the 1970 semi-final too, with 60k on I think. Anyone on here at either of those?
-
It's always happening though - dates and kick off times wrong, matches advertised that have been and gone. How fucking hard can it be?
-
This kind of shit is tinpot, not folk entertaining themselves with their mobile phone lights during a dull match. Will we ever sort it out?
-
It is - according to Twitter feed.

I remember thinking Vela was wasted not in midfield to help bolster how lightweight it was. Fuck knows, whatever it was it didn't really work til we made the subs. I'd have preferred em on at half time. We need to get some shooting practice in too - 22 shots with only 2 on target?!
-
All this 3 at the back talk, I thought we were playing a normal back 4 in first half - with Ream at left and Vela at right... 4 across midfield (and I agree Bannan and Rochina are too small to play together) and Feeney kind of up front with Le Fondre. Did I miss something? It was only later we went to a 3 - and we looked better with Vela further forward. But as others have said, we might as well mess around with formations and players now when we have that luxury, rather than at the start of next season - which would have been the Freedman approach. I also think getting 13k folk out for a midweek meaningless match when the roads and rail around the town are completely fucked should be seen as a big achievement, rather than cause for moaning. Ditto the light show...fuck me, have folk nothing better to whinge about?

I'm now in. Approx 1100 tickets sold as of this morning. Looking forward to catching up with some London Whites. A performance would be a bonus.
