  1. You fucking love em stevie really. :-)
  2. I agree. Especially in the week when plenty will have splashed out for season tickets. I was nailed on to go and am now leaning against. I've had enough of this season now and just want to build for next.
  3. Before my time but didn't we have a crowd of 33k against Blackburn at Burnden in 1973 - the year we went up from old Div 3 as champions?
  4. Rochdale, Watford, Brum, Blackpool, Huddersfield, Sheff Wed, Liverpool, Blackburn, Wigan and possibly Brentford. Lowest tally for a while. Would have been a lot lower if Lenny hadn't come in. Missed a good few after Watford cos simply couldn't face watching what DF was doing to us.
  5. 'Suppose' you'll do it...you'll 100 per cent do it Satan, and you know you will. :-)
  6. Let's get a good pre-season under our belts, get key players back from injury and allow Lenny to work his magic shall we, and see where that takes us. Or we could just carry on moaning like fuck through the entire summer, if you prefer?
  7. Nobody's arguing what he inherited wasn't a mess, but through his ludicrous team selections, non possession football, talking up the youth but never playing them, two worst starts in our entire history, treating the fans like idiots by describing games in post match interviews in a way which totally contradicted what everyone had just seen with their own eyes...do I need to go on?...he made that mess a whole lot worse. Had he not been sacked we'd have been where Blackpool are now heading - League 1.
  8. Well said.
  9. Bolton here, Bolton there...
  10. Oh little ray of sunshine. Kinell Horwich, are you always this cheerful?
  11. We need to find more goals if we are to challenge. Watford, Bournemouth, Norwich all banging em in. Clough has shown he has the knack. Need Craig Davies to stay fit and find another one from somewhere. What's the ppg tally now - close to 1.5? (30 games, 44 points?). All that after the worst run of injuries anyone can ever remember, two knackering games in the Cup against Liverpool...not to mention inheriting the mother of all shambles from his clown of a predecessor...anyone moaning after all that wants to have a fucking word with themselves.
  12. We won't be going into a season after a Freedman pre-season...get key players fit and one or two good signings and there's no reason why we can't challenge. A good start would be nice - after the past 4 seasons of absolute shockers.
  13. I think Roger Hunt was from Culcheth - and grew up a Wanderer.
  14. 30th is on the low side I'd say Casino. We're normally around the low 20s mark if you take our whole history. Southampton seem way ahead of us right now, with more than double our crowds, but they're well below us in the all time lists. But then if you compared us in say 2004 with Sheffield Weds we'd have been above them because we happened to be on a high and they were on a low, but I don't think anyone would really say we're a bigger club than them.
  15. We had a better head to head record against both United and City until a couple of years into our last stay in the Premier League...maybe even more recently with City. Same with Chelsea. Money eventually talks. Though that said, it doesn't explain why Everton and Derby both have massively better records against us.

  17. As someone else said, you couldn't pay most to do some of the trips she's done week in week out for the past 60 years, let alone offer free travel. I did every game in the 94-95 season...no danger of ever doing anywhere near that again though.
  18. I genuinely don't know. If you're saying she gets a free ticket, then good, I didn't know that.
  19. I didn't bring up attendances, someone else did, so that's not strictly true is it, Big E? I came in on this (like most others) to slag off the treatment (yet again) of the fans who actually go to matches, rather than those who simply watch on Sky.
  20. Tickets for this could go extra quick now.
  21. Depends how we're doing. Last time I went to Norwich we must have had over 2k there - in the 97 promotion season.
  22. It's not about being a superfan, just a nice gesture from the club to folk like Ruth (we're only talking about a few people in this category).
  23. Which is what most of the top sides are charging now, Mounts. I'm sure I read somewhere that Newcastle were charged £52 recently - may have been at Liverpool, not sure. It's noticeable that increasing numbers of teams are taking up the smaller allocations these days. Not surprising at those fucking ludicrous prices.
  24. You know what I'm saying NB. It's hardly controversial to say thanks to the diehards who devote their lives travelling up and down the country for the club.
  25. Which was nicely boosted to over 1250 on Sat, Mounts. :-)
