  1. Very, very jealous indeed mate. Wish i could have made it back for the weekend, but that would have been a little too expensive! Was going to nip up to Singapore to see them 22nd July but its not gonna happen. They will have done Asia and i`m still holding out for an announcement that they will come over to Australia in our summer for the festival season ( Dec - April 2013). I can only but hope!!
  2. Moved over here in September 2008. Went to New South Wales initially as missus has family there, but moved over to Perth after doing a bit of travelling over here. Got job in an independent school over here and cant believe its nearly 4 years ago since we arrived. Job going great, nice house, pool and earning more as a teacher here than i was in Bolton, even with all things relative and cost of living etc... Met quite a few Boltoners, including Bolty on many occasions. When Stoke beat us in the semi last year there must have been over 100 Wanderers fans in the casino bar watching the game and about 8 Stokies! A few BWFC car number plates also around the joint. I`ve had my moments in missing the UK/ family and the Whites especially, having spent 35 years of my life living and working in Bolton/Manchester, but you know what....i`ll always enjoy going back on holiday. No regrets, life is far too short! Anyway, to me moving to Australia is no different that moving to London or wherever. You still dont see family or mates too often apart from Xmas
  3. Damn good line up. Sat at home, off work with a burnt hand ,( the perils of camping) feelin sorry for myself and lookin at this line up makes me wish i was back!
  4. As an `expat` of 3 years over here in Perth, WA ( and yes, i know Bolty), Talksport is one of the few internet stations i can get live. I admit, its drivel at the best of times but Brazil and Irani and Keys and Gray keep me up to date most afternoons and early evenings when i get home from work. Quite nice getting home at 6pm, cracking open an ale and sitting by the pool listening to what shite is going on back in the footy world.
  5. Will be doing the 12,000 mile trip from Perth if we get to the final thats for sure. Will be watchin` game in a sports bar along with a handful of other Bowton expats and who knows....there may even be a few Stokies about!
  6. Cheers mate. Yeah, i have e mailed Dave Hodson. Hope to go to Burswood sports bar. Dave was checking if they`re showing it.
  7. Now, i know that there are a few of us around Perth, Western Australia. 1. Who fancies meetin` up for the semi? 2. Anyone know pubs that have setanta that wil definately be showing the game at 11pm Sunday night.
  8. It wasn't that clip of Bolton v Blackpool skill skool. Was in the school Sports Hall with 2 lads against each other, school kids and PE Staff looking on. Used to know one of the staff there before i packed up and moved to Perth, WA.
  9. We get a `watered down` one hour version of Soccer AM shown here in Perth on Sunday mornings. Think its better to handle in a one hour highlights show. Anyway, did you know that Bolton had 2 more subtle exposures on Soccer AM on 2nd April? 1. Mark Steel - Palace fan / comedian. Lives or used to live in Horwich ( been away for 2 years, so he might have moved on) 2. Skill Skool - Filmed at Withins School i think. There was a Bolton Community banner in the back ground and i think i recognised one of the staff. Might be mistaken, but looked like it?
  10. Same goes for me Bolty. Going to put in for some unpaid leave if we get there. Watched semi from a bar in Kuta, Bali. Was there for a mates wedding. He`s another Wanderers fan now living in Adelaide since 2009. We were going nuts when Chungy scored, and you`ll never believe it but there were 2 Brum fans in the bar too. Of all the places in the bloody world eh!!
  11. Happy with that folks. Pity Elmander couldn't finish at 2-1. From my sofa in Perth, we more than held our own and how anyone can call us a long ball team after the sweeping move for our second can eat shit! Bolton soring a counter- attacking goal against the Scum...feck me! In Owen we trust. Come on you white men!
  12. Hold the back page...I`m on the next flight home!
  13. Oh yeah, another boyhood tale of mischief...Was mucking about under the viaduct near the astro when i got hit in the eye with a stone chucked by one of the lads ( boys will throw stones). Was leggin it home under subway when 2 Bolton players were walking back to Burnden after training at the old ground on Bromwich St. They whisked me into Burnden and i was attended to by the medical staff. Warren Joyce was one but cant for the life of me remember t'other!
  14. When Frankie Worthy scored "that goal" against Ipswich and ran over to the paddock to celebrate on his knees, i was in the crowd next to mi dad - Can see my head bobbin in and out of shot. BBC TV fame! You have to pause and rewind it but its me jumping up on a crate!
  15. I am setting the alarm for 3.45 am to watch it live on fox sports over here in Perth. 0-2 Elmander/Klasnic
  16. Yeah, its great. Moved over to Aussie in Sept 08 (Perth....and met Bolty here ) and use it to webcam back to Bowton.
  17. The shirt is bobbins! Simply NOT Bolton. With the orange and lines, looks like a bad 80s fashion statement. Might do well over here in Oz if we sign an Aussie player (good one like Tim Cahill!) as they are still livin in the past here! The club badge seems to be getting smaller too! Bring back the original bigger badge too while were at it.
  18. Keeps me sane over here in sunny Perth! Took delivery of away yellow a month ago from Bro back in Bowton, and wear it when...down the beach. What with being able to watch all Wanderers games home and away live on Fox Sports here, it makes me feel not to far from the action! Do i wear it when sat with a pint watching in my living room at 10pm...yeah. Will be there in spirit on Saturday against Sunderland
  19. More useless facts abot Mr Irani: 1) Dropped the bugger on 0 playing against Church Road Primary...he went on to score a ton not out! Still can remember standing on the square leg boundary aged 10, 1st over of the game through the hands for six!! 2) Got my own back playing for Association U15s v League at Tonge CC...Didnt get a ton though ( nor a 50) 30ish if i remember and a couple of sweet cover drives of Mr Irani`s bowling Listen over here in sunny Perth on t`internet every now and them. Brazil is quality. Are Wrighty and Durham still on Drivetime?
  20. Great respect for a great manager, standing on the paddock as a young boy in awe of the man and his team... RIP
  21. Fair play to him. We`ll love him or we`ll hate him in the results business that is the premier league!!
  22. Well, this is my first post on WW from the other side of the world and i`m sat in this internet cafe moaning at my missus about our plight . I was hoping for a positive introduction to WW but hell no.....SACK HIM NOW...PLEASE!!! Send him over here to manage Sydney FC and then i can give him some real stick! By the way the footy here is pants!
