It’s such a privilege to be part of someone’s death at home. To care for them, keep them comfortable and surrounded by family. So when we visit a patient and get no access, we can see on our system if they are in A&E waiting to be seen. A good 60% of the patients are either drug or drink related and usually repeat offenders. It’s sad. I’ve just done an essay on comparing the health needs of Blackpool and East Cheshire. Most of the prominent concerns came down to poverty and mental health issues, alcoholism and drug use stemming from them (Blondie, 2024). It’s so bloody shit. Oh and I smashed it with 68% 🤓(I’m still shit at referencing)
