  1. Does Wheater think any quicker though? He is very quick at getting hold of the forwards shirt. On balance Knight is slightly less risky.
  2. I am confident that with the right team selection we will win this 3-1. However, every time OC has had too many options, be it defence or attack, he has generally made the wrong choices. This week there are at least four possibilities at right back, the mind boggles if he gets it wrong. Substitutions have been a disadvantage when they are supposed to be an advantage. I am hoping Muamba plays for 90 minutes and there are no dodgy refereeing decisions! Defence for me should be Steinsson, Knight, Ream and Ricketts. I know throwing a new player in is a risk but we if we lose this it will be like needing two snookers on the green!
  3. There is nothing lower than having Roy keane as a pundit. 'well Roy could you talk us through that attempted career ending challenge?'
  4. I think club management and international management are very different. Klinsmann is good at the latter but I'm sure you disagree. Speaks better English than HR as well!
  5. Because they are breathing. Seriously though you cannot label all foreign managers crap because of capello. Klinsmann would do a good job for one.
  6. Definitely. So Martin Oneill then!
  7. Cheers for not coming it will be like having an extra player.

    John Terry

Hopefully, the useless sod. Should have gone after the World Cup fiasco.
  9. Really disappointed with that result it was a game we needed to take something from. OC does not seem to be learning that taking Muamba off makes us vulnerable. The longer it stays 0-0 the more the home team get desperate and leave openings for us to nick it. Instead we make it easy for them by changing our shape unnecessarily and also taking off our ball winner! We have just had a good few encouraging performances but it feels back to square one.
  10. Whatever you think of him, he IS one of us. He was and still is a fan. Maybe he is trying too hard to mix in with fans and have the craic at times but if he didn't people would call him for that as well. I wonder if Venky's have been on the train with Rovers fans today on the way to Arsenal having a laugh and joke about Kentucky fried chicken!

I think that just about sums it up. Anyone defending him is just apologising for a scumbag with no morals. I would love to know what Cahill thinks of his new team mate.

I'm sure racism has a lot of different levels but, come on, we can clearly see John Terry hurling some racially abusive comments towards a black opponent and you prefer to think he is telling lies? OJ Simpson had a lawyer as good as you!

He is a racist thug and not fit to captain England. The FA should be applauded.
  14. I meant playing for Bolton. I have seen plenty written off as crap before kicking a ball and turned out to be good players for us (Kevin Davies and Tony Kelly to name two).
  15. Firstly, we haven't seen Mears yet so why write him off? Eagles has been ok and if CYL had not got injured would probably have been a sub mainly. We need options and options with pace, like Sordell. If Ngog is injured would you be happy with Klasnic or Davies playing on their own up front? On your point about Reo-Coker that is a problem for the future. Holden isn't anywhere near fit and at the moment Muamba and Reo Coker are doing well.
  16. Is Sordell the alternative to Zaha? If not why did we leave it so late? Hopefully it happens as I think we need more fire power especially having seen what QPR have brought in.
  17. Spot on. The prize for couldn't give a shit has got to go to Nigel Jemson. Most useless probably Ian Moores. Warren Joyce was bad but Phil Neal still thought he could build a team around him.
  18. I should add that where Owen Coyle finally ends up will probably depend on the next four months. Could be top 5 hopefully!
  19. Quite contentious all this manager stuff but for the time I've watched Bolton I would rank them as follows: 1) Sam Allardyce 2) Bruce Rioch 3) Ian Greaves 4) Colin Todd 5) Jimmy Armfield 6) Phil Brown* 7) George Mulhall Gary Megson 9) Stan Anderson 10) Phil Neal 11) Charlie Wright 12) Nat Lofthouse* 13) John Mcgovern 14) Roy Mcfarland 15) Sammy Lee The last three on that list were truly awful so from that point of view Phil Neal was ok. *both caretaker roles
  20. I agree and wasn't suggesting Rioch did it alone. Colin Todd was an excellent assistant and then Manager, only slightly tarnished by the Mcfarland season. However, my post was about the Phil Neal 'myth' that somehow all Rioch had to do was carry on the good work. Bruce turned us around completely. He set us up not just for one promotion but laid the foundations for the PremierLeague and that had nothing to do with Phil Neal.
  21. I know this subject has been done to death but I really think you attach too much credit to Neal. Rioch was destined to be successful in my opinion, it was just a matter of time with or without Phil's input. However, there is no doubt we had two or three good players for Rioch to add to and take us forward. For that reason I can begrudgingly say cheers Phil, but thank God you left when you did! .
  22. Correct. The midfield is now protecting the defence. You could argue that we would be better investing in another muamba type player to give us options should he or NRC get injured.

Sorry to go back in the thread but this is nonsense. Which is the bigger achievement? Getting Bolton into the top 6 or winning the Cup with a top four club, for example Mancini at City last season? Mancini is better than Allardyce then? No chance! Similarly with Moyes, his achievements at Everton wont be measured by how many cups he has won. He has kept them in the top half (or better) whilst losing his best players regularly (Rooney, Arteta, Lescott, etc) and being given relatively little to re-invest.
  24. Good luck to him, he has been an excellent player and never rocked the boat despite endless speculation. As for Bolton, we have to move on and defend better as a team to have any chance of staying up. We have shown in the last two away games that we can do it if we play Muamba in a five man midfield with Ricketts playing full back. Hopefully Ream will be decent as I don't think Knight and Wheater will be an ideal partnership.
