  1. You're right. We are about to emerge from our transitional phase to discover that we have turned into the burnley team from three years ago. I vote that we immediately go back into transition and hope it is reversible!

Whilst I am no Alan Pardew fan I think he was wound up by Sunderlands' over zealous tackling and I don't blame him. Cattermole could have been sent off in nearly every game I've seen him play. He needs permanently putting down. Bardsley and Turner are also a pair of dirty bastards whilst that McClean tackle was a red in any other premiership game. Yes it was a derby but some of the Mackems tackling was disgraceful. I hope we can get some of that passion for Saturday, although we will probably only have 7 players left on the pitch!
  3. This is the last 'season starts here....' it's now or never for this lot and they owe us at least one big performance. Coyle must do his bit by selecting petrov and muamba with five in midfield. Then let's have a full committed game off everyone and see what happens!!
  4. sanitation, plastic seats, white dog shit, playing in snow, one sub who we didn't use unless there was a leg broken in three places, 442 played by every team with number eleven on the left wing and number seven on the right wing, cigar smoke hanging in the air, winter green odour, dug outs, linesmen who knew what they were doing, fat referees not keeping up with play but still getting more decisions right than today's professional pillocks, tar drifting across the pitch, half time scoreboard that was useless without a programme to tell you what match e was, away fans running across the pitch and people biting police horses outside the ground!
  5. Apparently it is going to be Mr Mayaichi. However, his English is still a bit ropey so Knight and NRC have wrote the script. " Ahhh Daniel son, sand the floor but City score. Wax on wax off but still they score more".

I wonder when Talksport will be doing a 'Scotty Parker England Captain tribute innit' four hour special.
  7. Are they not playing at Blackburn this week? If so I would expect Blackburn to have a nice gap of 4 points from us by next week.

What odds is it for us to win a corner?
  9. Conversely, you could say if we played Wigan, Norwich and Villa home games again we could be better off. We are where we are, in the shit but with some winnable games (on paper) to come.
  10. I agree but I'm not hopeful.
  11. I did and they were awful but so were we. They were also playing a team on top form who haven't lost at home for a year.
  12. Having watched highlights of all the bottom five last night we are probably the worst on current form. It could have gone really bad for us yesterday but for the time being we are still in with a hope, even if it is diminishing with every poor display. January now look likes a blip of good form rather than a turning point! Wigan and Wolves are scrapping well and picking up the odd point. QPR don't look good but will we beat them? Ditto Blackburn. Our only hope is that we can take advantage of apathy setting in to some of our opponents in the home games to come. For example, Spurs with the FACup on their mind or Fulham already on their Summer holidays. I don't see us getting the necessary points without help. This is what it has come to unfortunately, straws being desperately clutched!!

I wish we were on the slide with 30 points in the bag. First season in Europe is always a tough one for clubs of our size and as you say, pulls's first priority is keeping them up. I was surprised how much flack he was getting from Stoke fans earlier this season after a few hammerings away. For me, he has done an excellent job.
  14. Will you be hoping to see muamba in an uncompromising five man midfield formation or would you prefer eagles and co floating around aimlessly whilst being ripped apart by spurs wide men?
  15. The team at Millwall is probably about our best currently available (although we have yet to see what Sordell can do and Ream has only played once). It is pointless speculating about Chungy as he won't be back to anywhere near his best this season. The worry for me is that without NRC and Muamba fit (and selected!!!) we will get no more than 30 points.

I would like to see this team for saturday but expect to see a rigid 4-4-2 including SKD, Knight, Eagles and Petrov! Bogdan Steinnson Ream Boyatta Ricketts Muamba NRC M Davies Tuncay Miyachi Ngog
  17. That is what I feel like. I Just do not understand why he did it. In a match like this the first thing you should do is make it hard for your opponents and we made it easy. Yes, there were some shocking individual displays but we were played off the park by Wigan because we couldn't get the ball off them. We had a player on the bench who is good at doing just that but he didn't use him! Why? The substitutions we made changed nothing because Coyle did not address the problem. Sam Allardyce would have changed formation after 25 minutes because it was obvious by then. I'm still fuming and I'm usually quite pragmatic after a defeat, but this was shockingly bad management!
  18. Awful dismal shoddy sloppy and niaively constructed! That's the team tactics pretty much covered. The game itself didn't really rise above woefully inadequate. And I was right, Wheater really is no better than Knight. One of the most abject performances in my wanderers watching days. Wigan were allowed to do as they pleased and deserved their win!
  19. I hear what your saying. What it boils down to is how much better than Knight is Wheater, if at all? Nothing in it for me. The plus side for Wheater though is that he is still young enough to improve.
  20. What I mean by the term 'think' is how does he read the game? If you dont see whats coming you dont react to it. Wheater and Knight are both poor in this part of the game.
  21. Maybe. I just hope Ream is ready for a busy day, whoever he plays next to!
  22. Does Wheater think any quicker though? He is very quick at getting hold of the forwards shirt. On balance Knight is slightly less risky.
  23. I am confident that with the right team selection we will win this 3-1. However, every time OC has had too many options, be it defence or attack, he has generally made the wrong choices. This week there are at least four possibilities at right back, the mind boggles if he gets it wrong. Substitutions have been a disadvantage when they are supposed to be an advantage. I am hoping Muamba plays for 90 minutes and there are no dodgy refereeing decisions! Defence for me should be Steinsson, Knight, Ream and Ricketts. I know throwing a new player in is a risk but we if we lose this it will be like needing two snookers on the green!
  24. There is nothing lower than having Roy keane as a pundit. 'well Roy could you talk us through that attempted career ending challenge?'
