The new chancellor needs to stay up and burn the midnight oil. The Government needs to get a lot of money in the economy or we are in for one long recession. Think we might see a big jump in inflation this year and a good rise in interest rates, the good times are over for a while. Unfortunatly I can see a lot of houses being repossessed in late summer. Just hope I am totally wrong and the markets recover and the virus is not as bad as some are saying.

In fact I would say going all the way back to Rioch our signings of English players has just not been good enough. Look at Rioch s team Brannigan, Stubbs McAteer, Lee, McGinley,Thomson...walker,coyle and mixu all signed for next to nothing bought to the club and all went at a profit 9 Players who we bought for peanuts and went on to give the club good service..We have not had 9 players do that in the 25 years since

Apart from Kevin Davies I cannot think of a player we have signed from another English club whose stock rose once he played for us. Why did we not take a punt on players like Dean Ashton, Danny Murphy, Robbie Savage , Neil Lennon, Jamie Vardy Danny ings All released or went for next to nothing from local clubs.....You could proberbly add another 30 names on top of those yet we overlooked all these.

The scouting has been the problem down the years at Bolton. Players like Dale Stephens, Ashley Fletcher are Born in the town yet they slipped the net, then Craig Dawson was playing for Radcliffe Boro. Then we had Brookes and Ramsdale at b/mouth as kids Them two alone would cost £30m.

Think we panicked [rightly ] at the beginning of the season to get a manager in and get players signed. Overall I think his signings were ok. Maybe if we had kept those players and added in the January transfer we would have been ok. Again we have been unlucky with injuries for the tenth season running. It is his selections that have most baffled Bridcutt and Lowe are NOT defenders The continual selection of L Murphy. The slagging off of young defenders in the press. Signing players for next season then saying they are not yet good enough. For me we have nothing to lose if we make flitcroft the manager until the end of the season then review it then. We are in a ok position where as we have little debt . The shares are not floated and are held by I think three maybe four people. The will be clubs out there whose value beforehand was say 100m and had 120m of debt......Today that club may be valued at 70m with 120m debt. Plus now the will be a hell of a lot of creditors pushing to be paid.

The collapse of the stockmarket will put a lot of clubs in a far worse position than us in the next few months. Can see a number of clubs going to the wall very soon. Billions will have been wiped off club shares, but most of the owners will have taken a bigger hit and may want to offload.
