  1. The is a article on vital Charlton website about FORMER Bolton owner Laurence Bassini buying Charlton He states how he left Bolton on the edge of extension. Jesus wept are people so clueless.
  2. Chances that if the recession is as bad as the chancellor thinks. We could see the majority of teams below the championship go semi pro. Television money is past its peak. Corporate will see a big decline as will sponsorship. Then they are talking about a salary cap [Salford have players contracted to above the ceiling already] Whatever they decide someone will not be happy. On a plus side I think our board have acted with dignity by not voting for the season to be voided.
  3. Looks like a salary cap will be imposed for the season 20/21. Clubs are to vote on putting a salary cap of £2.5m for lge 1, and £1.25m for lge 2. Also squads reduced to 22. In other words bringing clubs down to what Bolton work currently with.
  4. Would get Gary Oneill for 1.5k plus any number of decent out of work players...Maybe a promotion bonus or creative accounting can make us more appealing. If you offered 1.5k to a out of contract player and he can get another club fair enough, but I think the will be plenty who will take any offer forthcoming.
  5. Think a lot of players are going to lower there expectations if they want to stay in the game. 1.5k will get you a better standard of player than this time last season.
  6. Was on the fence with Hill/Flitcroft .,,Emmanuals revelation that they have basically been left to train without advice or personal programmes shocked me. Not bothered about White or even Darcy moving on, they will both have had better offers than what we can afford. We no longer have a reserve team so each place in the squad is more critical than it has ever been. Think we have about nine out of 23 places allocated for next season .Would love to add Mathews, Zouma, Lowe and Crawford to that list . Over 1000 players out of contract next month. The will be better players on that list than we currently have.
  7. Sorry I stand corrected...
  8. Three Ns for forwards yet not one Sir Nat !
  9. Great effort apart from Neil lennon…..Sir Nat all day
  10. She has thought I will play it safe watch how it unfolds with the English. If the R rate does not go through the roof she will follow us maybe two weeks behind us. Good leadership but you can see she does not care about the English......Sooner she gets her independence wish the better
  11. We need to start easing down on lockdown. The critical R is All and everything. The more we ease the more the R will go up,but we have to accept , with each easing. unfortunatly that will mean more deaths. The is risk in everything in life. Do we shut the M6 because people will die on it every month of course not its a risk we accept. Its the pricks who have totally ignored all advice who will keep that R figure high and not the government.
  12. Listen to Roy Bittan piano play and ignore Meatloaf... The record is then worth listening to
  13. For the last 6 weeks I have thought the is not a chance in hell of football again this year. I can now see the premier league flying out to somewhere like New Zealand going into quarantine for two weeks. Then all players tested each day and the premier league completed. Now where does that leave every other team?? The rest ie championship and below will have to scrap the season as they cannot afford to follow and next season all teams will start in the league they started this season.
  14. Cannot think of anything original from the 90s onwards
  15. plenty of shit in the 70s, but no worse than the shit in the 80s and 90s
  16. yes Abba add to that Elton john,Slade, Ramones...Michael Jackson..John Lennon...Elvis,,,,,Meatloaf.. Ac/Dc.....

  18. already a precedent set. Blackpool was leading the old div 1 in 1939 when war broke out the season was abandoned nobody crowned champions. All be it they had only played 3 games..
  19. The JC you are talking about was a few years younger.....His brother SC played in those sunday games on St Mathews
  20. I am going back to perhaps 1979. And the was a JC but he was DMB so no it was not me
  21. Played in Bolton boys fed for lads club with Phil, our manager was not very good Phil was our goalie Also used to play on St Mathews field down Halliwell on a Sunday afternoon. Last time I seen him was on the 501 bus when I was about 15,told me he had just been to Army careers office and he was joining up. If I remember right his sister was also in the army.
  22. Ideal team then for Ashley
  23. Hancock on at 5 Terrible Health Minister. Saying the would be 100k tests per day by the end of April. Not got a clue how many people have died in care homes. Now its coming out that we turned down a E.U Scheme to buy ventilators and ppe in mid March. He reminds me of a thick Scott Quigge
  24. Guess us and the Aztec have gone down hill since roughly 1939/45
