  1. I prefer the quicker route, liquidated and they start again in the north west counties league.
  2. I can't get my head around Wiganers talking about their next manager. I'm sure psychotherapists would be able to explain the phenomenom. Fucked if I can.
  3. My understanding is that there are rules about insolvency and administration which is what Wigan have done. The rule for that is a 12 point deduction, when that occurs is also a rule but because of covid the EFL had to decide when it should happen for Wigan. Presumably based loosely on the existing rules. Sheff Wed were being investigated for breach of ffp rules. I don't know if there are hard and fast rules around this in terms of what the punishment should be and crucially when it should happen.
  4. Oh good! yep they're fucked.
  5. I'm wondering if the administrators have mentioned to the EFL that with the 12 point deduction this season they are having great difficulty convincing any potential buyer to take Wigan on. In effect blaming the EFL for losing a club by their actions.
  6. It's now official that Cook has gone, it was announced at the same time as we signed our 6th player. Trying to bury bad news obviously! Anyway can we read anything into him officially resigning the day after the appeal.
  7. On the official Bolton twitter account they are saying don't lie in too long tomorrow morning they are announcing something? I'm guessing season tickets and the outcome of people claiming back last seasons money from season tickets.
  8. It's going to be a long weekend for those mugs.
  9. It probably comes down to the outcome of the appeal whether they get a buyer to bite.
  10. There's an update on latics speyk for anyone interested.
  11. Talks with the buyers will continue over the weekend and into next week.
  12. The appeal has concluded with judgement reserved. They'll have to wait and suffer longer.
  13. I would have thought that potential buyers will be looking at those players as assets they could sell to recoup money. The longer those players keep getting sold to fund administration the less assets Wigan have. Then the club becomes less attractive to buyers and when they lose their appeal, you can probably count the number of potential buyers on one finger, Dave Whelan.
  14. FFS! Before and up to Parky leaving last season the last thing on my mind was the Manager. I just wanted my club to survive.
  15. According to Nixon on Twitter, Cook is resigning because he can see carnage ahead.
  16. It's a mystery to me why Howe and Dyche haven't been poached by bigger clubs. When we had big Sam he was linked with every job going or so it seemed at the time. Howe might be a good fit for Villa.
  17. I've just checked again Casino, in case it was incoming and outgoing but it deffo says purchased players. So by my reckoning it looks like like £150 million?
  18. Take a gander looks to be about £150 million since January 2019 https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eddie-howe/spielertransfers/trainer/10976
  19. It would be a nightmare for the efl. Approximately 40+ English clubs have entered administration in the past, the scale is enormous. The best result for football would be the points deduction stands and it then discourages other clubs from challenging points deductions in future.
  20. Latest from the admins, looks like the interested buyers are waiting for the appeal outcome. https://wiganathletic.com/news/2020/july/Statement-Update-From-The-Joint-Administrators/
  21. No they won't. Just imagine the shit storm the elf will face from all previous clubs that have gone into administration. Also any club in future could just enter administration clear their debts and no points deduction.
  22. I'm finding this thread so uplifting.
  23. What we were suffering last summer was the worst football experience I've ever been through. Instead of getting empathy from Wigan supporters we got them taking fucking photos of themselves outside our ground revelling in our misery and at that time possible demise. When they sang Bolton's going bust at our place it was loud because it was all of them singing it not just a handful of them, all of them. So if it was any other club I'd agree with you but not Wigan.
