  1. It's another loss of a decent club. It's sickening when you look at their debts compared to the billions swilling around at the top end of the pyramid.
  2. It's bizarre what's currently happening. The season has started and yet the admins are still talking about interested buyers showing up at the door. It's as though the EFL have abandoned their Criteria for funding and they're blindly hoping something turns up soon.
  3. The EFL still haven't said anything official as far as I know. It's going to kick off if they have screwed up and shouldn't have let Wigan start.
  4. we looked a tad better after the formation change, but still no service for Doyle. Worrying times.
  5. Disappointing, but I'll hold out a glimmer of hope until the EFL confirm it.
  6. This statement from the EFL, which has to be soon, will indicate which direction Wigan are heading.
  7. Irrespective, whoever is trying to buy them needs to prove to the EFL they can fund the club for at least this season if not next as well.
  8. 3 v 2 but not confident.
  9. I just see the demo as a sign of desperation. They're suffering I'm happy to say.
  10. I suppose at the outset you'd say with any club it's 50/50. However the only buyer in town doesn't want the stadium and the admins need to sell it to finance their wages. Given that the season starts on Saturday time is the enemy as well. I'll go for 7.
  11. I'd be amazed if the EFL let them start the season without cast iron guarantees in writing that a full season can be funded. The EFL are waiting until the last possible moment before making a statement.
  12. An account with 33 not enough. Fuck 'em I'm so looking forward to the EFL announcement this week.
  13. The was no service at all for Doyle and he kept dropping deeper out of frustration I presume. The marking for the second goal was non existent and the first was easy for them. A lot to work on for Evatt for sure.
  14. Not sure if this has been posted already but Kipre sold for sub £1m. Nine from the team that played the last game are gone according to Nixon and he say the price isn't being reduced for the club despite selling another player. Is he some kind of closet Bolton fan I wonder.
  15. Not convinced by that statement as he says, "it's just a case of them putting their hands in their pockets" This has been the situation for weeks now if not most of the period they've been in admin. The efl may give them a couple of weeks to get a deal done whereby they postpone Wigan's games and they catch up should a buyer be found.
  16. According to Nixon there is now only one potential buyer left.
  17. Fans have been contacting him telling him to clear off? Beggars can't be choosers but by doing this what they are saying is, we prefer to be liquidated rather than have an owner with a chequered history.
  18. There's a whiff of panic on there now and I'm thoroughly enjoying it!
  19. The cost to buy the club and stadia has been the same now for a number of weeks and still nobody is biting. We're just waiting for the coup de grace from the EFL as far as I can see.
  20. Indeed we used to be called Christ Church but we fell out with the vicar when he wanted to put up the rent on the pitch we played on. We were given the name because then we used to 'wander' around town looking for a pitch to play on for every home game. Steeped in history this club. For the benefit of any younger ones on here who don't know the history.
  21. I would think it's getting close to decision time by the EFL.
  22. This reminds me of a time where I used to work and a Manure fan said and I quote. I can't understand why everybody doesn't want to support United. Apart from the arrogance I pointed out that no other clubs would exist if everyone supported Utd. Thick twat hadn't thought about that one.
  23. Yeah Bassini. If they don't get liquidated then Anderson or Bassini in charge would be good compensation for me.
