So Hamas have agreed to disarm but the other terrorists are still committed to taking more land ? Interesting that - because according to some on here it was just about defending the themselves & if Hamas didn’t exist they wouldn’t need to be in Gaza. Who knew that a bit of ethnic cleansing & genocide equates to self defence. Drama queens aside, I think we’re finally calming down from the Wembley buzz & realising that this will be a huge step up. Especially for a side that in all honesty wasn’t that good last season & never really found their rhythm. Certainly showed our spirit in the playoffs. We had a positive start to the transfer window but it’s not looking great at the moment. SS shares our anxiety & I’m confident we’ll have an influx. Ideally we’d have more by now though. Reality is for me that it’s likely to be 1 or 2 more seasons before we’re challenging for a top half finish. A comfortable 14th with a chilled end to the season would be perfect. The beauty of this league is that we may surprise everyone & be pushing higher up. But it’s unlikely. So much depends on new signings - on how our players adapt & how the gaffer performs & learns from his experience in this league. The optimist in me thinks we’ve some Championship ready players & still have the rest of this window & January. Also need to remember that some teams in this league will be much worse than us.

Absolutely And I’d say we’re getting to the point where the ‘hysteria’ of some people is beginning to cause similar levels of problems that our broken asylum system is. Our immigration system has become a mess & folk are entitled to be angry about it. It has become unsafe, unfair & people’s fears have been downplayed & dismissed over the years. However this has been jumped on & many on the far right have become hysterical. A lot of racist scumbags seem to be emboldened again White power Nazis marching through Liverpool attacking immigrant shops the other week. Unionists in Belfast burning effigies of Mosques. Folk in Glasgow last week believing false rumours online & rioting outside a venue that wasn’t housing asylum seekers. Then racists attacking delivery drivers & in and screaming go home to random black people in the streets. It’s rife. And blaming the ‘establishment’ does nothing but deflect from the issue & downplay it. Folk have been whipped into a frenzy & the ethno nationalist movement is becoming a real threat. Ironically they pride themselves as honouring our war dead - but they preach the extremism our forefathers fought against.

Europe is the fastest warming continent on the Earth. We’ve some horrific times ahead when we hit 3 degrees of warming - doesn’t bear thinking about if the AMOC goes. Collectively we’ve just got our head in the sands & seem to still be in denial. Countries will have no choice but to continue to militarise their borders. The numbers will just be unmanageable. The asylum system works well in its time & was a force for good when we lived in more prosperous times. It’s completely broken now.

There is nothing on this thread that shows cancel culture at play for me. Unless I have missed posters calling for posts to be taken down? Just seems like healthy debate.
