It'd generally be no from me too, but he did well at Burton as the one centre forward. Whether that was a flash in the pan or not, dunno. All the more baffling Evatt bought him to play in a two in a team that rarely crossed.

I remember the old "poor pre-season, good season" rationale back in the 80s. In truth, it was blind optimism after poor pre-seasons (followed by equally poor seasons).
